Hopefully he had not previously procreated.

Seriously, it is yahoos like this who don’t know the 2 Holy Commandments of guns (much less the rest) that make it harder to fight off the leftist flood of gun-grabbers...

Here's the local story:

Goochland man fatally shoots self in Russian roulette game

A 20-year-old Goochland County man has died after a game of Russian roulette, Sheriff James Agnew said.

Christopher Ryan Benson of Jackson Shop Road died Thursday when he put a .22-caliber revolver to his head and pulled the trigger, Agnew said.

Agnew said some young people were drinking and partying outside in the 2300 block of Camelback Road late Thursday.

“It was an outside party down in a field,” he said.

Benson, an Army reservist, picked up the gun after Gum Spring resident David Cash Raymond, 20, brought it out and, insisting it was unloaded, put it to his own head and pulled the trigger with no effect, Agnew said.

“Raymond put the gun to his head and pulled the trigger twice,” Agnew said. After Raymond put the gun down, Benson picked it up and fired the fatal shot.

Raymond was charged with reckless handling of a firearm, sheriff’s officials said. He was released and will face a preliminary hearing April 1 in Goochland General District Court, the officials said.

Two young women were charged with underage possession of alcohol.

Benson’s body was taken to the state medical examiner’s office in Richmond.

“Alcohol and guns, excessive drinking, they just don’t mix,” Agnew said Saturday. “It’s just senseless and stupid.”

The other trick that these morons do is to pull the clip from a semi-auto, not realizing that the chambered round stays chambered. A quick flash is the last thing they ever see.

I'm harboring serious doubts that this guy was very bright when he was sober.

Playing “Russian Roulette” is not an accidental killing.

You’re being an idiot on purpose. It’s no accident. Accidents are unexpected and certainly unplanned. If you play a game like this it is hardly unexpected and you cannot say they are unplanned.

Upon reading the story, it is inaccurate to call this Russian Roulette.

A guy brought out a gun and said it was empty and put it to his head and pulled the trigger twice.

Then another guy picked it up and pulled the trigger and killed himself.

That is not Russian Roulette. Russian Roulette is one somewhere in the chamber, the chamber is spun, both people know there’s one in there, and they start pulling the trigger until one dies or backs out.

Both are idiotic, but this was not Russian Roulette.

Manson Family

http://www.tatefamilylegacy.com/unsolved.html

>>On Wednesday November 5th, 1969 Venice police responded to a call at 28 Clubhouse Avenue. There they found a young man called “Zero” (His true name was John Philip Haught, but that was unknown at the time) who was dead. He was lying on a mattress in the bedroom of the home. He had an entrance wound to the right temple. There was a leather gun case and a revolver lying beside the body. Alive in the home were Bruce Davis, Madaline Joan Cottage, Sue Bartell and Catherine Gillies. They told the police that Haught had shot himself playing Russian roulette.

>>Cottage said that she had been lying in bed next to Haught when he noticed the gun in the leather case on a stand next to the bed. She said he remarked “Oh, here’s a gun.” picked it up and removed the gun from the case and said it only has “one bullet in it.” Holding the gun in his right hand Cottage said that Haught had spun the cylinder and placed the gun muzzle to his right temple and fired. The others said they heard the gun fire and raced into the bedroom whereupon Cottage exclaimed that “Zero” had shot himself, “just like in the movies.” They indicated they then called the police, and indeed the body was warm to the touch when the police officers arrived. Davis told the officers that he had picked up the gun. When the gun was dusted later for prints neither Haught or Davis’ prints were found. The leather case was also devoid of prints. (Later a Manson case researcher would state that he was told that Davis’ prints were found on the gun. I have seen no proof of that statement to date.)

>>The gun was found to have been fully loaded. The officers were not aware that Davis and the girls were members of the Manson family. They questioned Davis, Cottage, Bartell and Gillies separately and they all told basically the same story. The police department then ruled the death a suicide.

i’ve heard it said either way, as on a wheel gun the chamber is part of the cylinder. you put a bullet in the chamber (one spot on the cylinder) and then spin it, so both are spinning.

Reading the ‘facts’ as reported in the story, manslaughter charges should have been filed, if not murder, for depraved actions that resulted in the death of another.

That said, every gun is loaded until you personally inspect it to ensure it is not, and again, the cardinal rule: Never aim a gun at anything you do not intend to kill.
