A musical about a bunch of hicks from fly-over country? I give it 3 weeks, tops.
The movies of 1943 havent been so hot lately so I decided to supplement the movie reviews with my first ever Broadway theater review. Below I posted links to a couple of songs by the original cast members I found on youtube. Surprisingly, I couldnt find the title song HJS.
Joan Roberts, Out of My Dream
Celeste Holm, I Caint Say No

Thanks, I saw it on Broadway after I got out of the Army. Then again later as a movie. When people can understand and then sing the words, the show becomes a hit.

Thank you for this. I have often wondered about the original reviews of what turn out to be classic movies and songs. What were people’s first impressions? This was interesting.

Thanks, I saw it on Broadway after I got out of the Army. That would have been the original run. It lasted for 2,243 performances, which is about 6 years.
For those who don't know ex-snook landed in France in 1944. Possibly the only freeper who can make that claim.

I have tried to post reviews of all the important movies and some not so important from 1939 until the current 1943 crop. If there are any particular ones you are curious about I can point you to them.

I saw a video of a production with Hugh Jackman playing Curly. Turns out Wolverine is a terrific song and dance man!
