When asked if bank account confiscation will be going worldwide, Jim said, ”Well, it’s now in their bag of tricks, but yes, they can do anything they want too now. I for one am worried and I’m taking preparations. Who knows if I’m right or not, but I’d rather be safe than sorry as all of those people who had money in Cyprus have learned. They thought they had a normal bank account…but now it’s been [taken] with the sanctions of many governments and institutions.”

Thank you Dodd-Frank, we're no longer depositors but are now (unwilling) investors.

Savings belong in Credit Unions.

Banks are for monthly bills.

Savings belong in Credit Unions.

Why do you think it would be any safer in the CU than in the Bank ?

What magical spell are on Credit Unions that will protect them when ‘Bama’ and his socialist minions come for the money?

The safest thing is probably gold that you physically take possession of. Trouble is I haven’t found a convenient way to buy any without paying a huge markup. Any ideas?

I am the last person to ask. If it isn’t a tool or if you can’t eat it, drink it or shoot it, it’s most likely not in my prep’s.

Credit Unions are local and the Fed’s don’t have the immediate reach and control they do with FDIC insured banks.

You would have more time and access to your money in an FCU.

It would take more steps for the Feds to grab that money, and you’re more likely to have time to react, to retrieve your cash before it’s too late.

That’s what I do. I throw them right into the dehydrator frozen. Then when dried I place them in 1 quart canning jars add a oxygen absorber and vacuum seal them with my food save.
