The Borking of Michele Bachmann
American Spectator ^ | April 07, 2013 | JEFFREY LORD

The Borking of Michele Bachmann By JEFFREY LORD Another conservative gets the Washington treatment.

Shocker. Having failed to end Congresswoman Michele Bachmann’s congressional career at the polls, the left is now moving to do it the old-fashioned way: Bork Bachmann unto political death. The problem? This really is the old-fashioned way.

And any conservative even semi-awake recognizes the game instantly. In this case the game being played with the so-called Office of Congressional Ethics, the OCE.

This is what we now call “Borking.”

The method of choice of liberals when they are frustrated by the public’s attachment or potential attachment to a political figure on the Right.

From then-California Senator Richard Nixon’s 1952 “scandal” about a campaign fund to Barry Goldwater’s 1964 “ties” to German Nazis to 1988 allegations that Dan Quayle bought drugs to Sarah Palin’s 2008 episode over Alaskan state troopers, the story is the same. From charges designed to immolate any conservative from the late Robert Bork in 1987 (whence the Borking game took its name) to Clarence Thomas in 1991 or, in the last few days, Dr. Ben Carson, the game never changes when the objective is to destroy a prominent conservative.

Now comes Michele Bachmann’s turn to be, as it were, Borked.

She had a great plan for bringing business back to the USA while both lowering taxes and increasing revenue. I personally would have combined it with Rick Santorum’s idea about eliminating the idiotic repetitive tax imposed on manufacturing.

If Freepers didn’t fall for it...then Bachmann would have been our Nominee last fall. One person who really fell for it was Ann barnhardt. Say what you will about her and I like her. She was right on Romney go home video, but when she did a presenation on the economy and turned to politics to porve there was nobodt she could trust in D.C. well she used the leftist canards to attack Bachmann and Allen West. So she fell for it as well.

They have been hanging out in Washington for too long. They need to get back to their home communities and get back in touch with the people but I think many of them left their home communities because they wanted to make it to the big leagues—Washington. They wanted to be big shots. They are Hollywood stars now, don’t you know.

Good argument for moving the capital to South Dakota or Kansas.
