Thanks for reminding me this is on TV now! I’m not really into golf but the Masters is an event worth watching!!!
I read Condi Rice played a strong round with Mickelson.
(and yes I know by FR standards she’s a pro-abortion one world RINO)
With the awful events of the past couple years behind him, I see him getting back on track to becoming the greatest golfer of all time......
Since he's never done anything to me and I have no envy of his fame, his wealth and his accomplishments, I wish him nothing but good will........Go Tiger!
I'm thinking Justin Rose because he's played really well the past five Masters without a win and I think he's running 18-1 with the bookies.
My long shot dark horse is Johnson, either Zack or Dustin. Are would that be horses?
I know there are several folks here who will swear that he stopped using steroids (which they claimed he was on) but the reality is that the muscle development workouts and intensity that he subjected himself to were quite likely one of the causes of the decline in his golf game. Realizing that, he probably backed off from that regimen.....
Golf is a finesse sport, not a body building sport. Also notice that Mickelson has seemed to have trimmed down a lot..........And Couples too......
Weight lifting in golf is only for maintaining existing strength and muscle tone, not for building........
Just saw Sergio push one right on 13 through the pine trees from where Phil made that amazing shot a few years ago. Couples is spanking the ball (-2)playing with Dustin Johnson who plays a little bit too much right-to-left for this course.

Tiger Woods finished today's opening round at The Masters with a 2-under 70. For those that are hoping to see Tiger in contention on Sunday, this is a great sign.
In three of the four years that Woods won the green jacket, his opening round score was 70. The one exception was 2005 when he posted a 2-over 74 in the first round. Only once in 19 trips to Augusta did Woods post a lower score in the opening round. That was a 68 in 2010. He finished fourth that year.
Here is a look at how Tiger arrived at 2-under today and how it compares to the opening rounds of the four years he won the tournament...
The 14 year old kid is +2 through 15... unreal. I saw him on the practice range yesterday. Looks young and has no clue what he’s doing right now. Gonna be big though.
The past two years and his personal problems were a major disappointment to me in terms of his lack of performance. Hopefully that has come to an end.......
But why do I like Tiger Woods? Because he shows the same emotions on the course that I can relate to: the anger after a bad shot, and the fist pump after a made putt. It drives me nuts when I hear folks criticizing golfers for any emotional display, as if golf isn't a sport where emotions should be released.
Golf needs to evolve and change just as bowling has. Where once the bowlers were afforded silence, they now have fan participation on every roll.
Basketball has no rule of silence when the free throw shooter is at the line in a tied game with only 2 seconds left in the game.
As a side note, another reason I gave up golf is because my golf partners got tired of my firecrackers........
To me the Masters has always been the unveiling of spring time with all its trees and flowers in bloom. This year there is nothing........
Hey, great to read you again, Baynative. We reconnect this spring over the Masters once again. Welcome.
The 14 yr old walked off the 18th after sinking one from the fringe and just about ignored Ben Crenshaw! Not out of rudeness but inexperience. I think there are 6 amateurs out there and he had the best score of the six.
I like the masters because the course is like a huge green Cathedral (I’m in the high desert, so green is good).
I wish the PGA would do something about the morons that shout idiotic stuff, and “Get in the hole!” that really diminishes the experience.
1. Dr. Mackenzie and I believe that no good golf hole exists that does not afford a proper and convenient solution to the average golfer and the short player, as well as to the more powerful and accurate expert.
2. We have always felt that the make-or-break character of many of the holes of our second nine has been largely responsible for rewarding our spectators with so many dramatic finishes. It has always been a nine that could be played in the low thirties or the middle forties.
