TENNAGE pop singer Justin Bieber has sparked controversy after writing a message in the Anne Frank house guestbook saying that he hoped she would have been a fan of his music.

The 19-year-old is due to perform tonight in Arnhem, around an hour from Amsterdam, where the Anne Frank House is situated, and visited the museum on Saturday night.

Staff from the museum wrote on their Facebook page: “Yesterday night Justin Bieber visited the Anne Frank House, together with his friends and guards.

“Fans were waiting outside to see a glimpse of him. He stayed more than an hour in the museum.

“In our guestbook he wrote: ‘Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a belieber.’”

I’m with you. Been there, too, btw. I really had to choke back the tears. It makes you understand that there is evil in the world and it needs to be resisted.

Yes, it was awkward, but if millions of teenage girls decide to research the Anne Frank story, then perhaps it will have done some good.

I’ve also visited there ... Anne Frank probably would have been a fan of Bieber. She was just an ordinary teenage girl like most others with an innocent and idealistic heart.

The touching thing about Anne Frank’s Diary is her humanity and her sophistication, for a fourteen year old. She is perceptive beyond her years, and articulate. When I was in my early teens almost everyone read Anne Frank’s Diary. Not so much, anymore.

I give him 5 years, tops, before he’s too old for his NAMBLA fan base and they abandon him. Then we’ll see if Justin can survive on his talent alone.

I think he’s ok cause he went out of his way to fly Casey the Punisher and his family to a few concerts, and brought him out on stage.

Who is "Casey the Punisher"?

‘’She would have felt the same about you beiber.’’< Yeah, right? Except of course for that whole WW2/Holocaust thing going on.Okay, so the kid at least knew who she was but for Heavens sake couldn’t he have shown a little solemnity for who Anne frank was and what she represented? Why does it have to be about him?

We’re supposed to know that, I guess. I googled it, and apparently he’s a kid that put the smack-down on a bully using martial arts.

who’s he think he is, Mick Jagger?

You got the initials and first name right, but it's another gynæcian white boy.

He’s having a nervous breakdown, panic attacks and all. Child star syndrome. He’s not aging well in his little cute boy act.

Agreed. I visited the Anne Frank home. It was a solemn monument of socialist tyranny and the horror experienced by innocents. Hardly an occasion for self promotion. And yes, she probably would have thought he was a girl...

Yup, only in America can a young black boy grow up to look like a middle -aged white woman.

I’d like to know who leaked his comment in the guestbook. That wasn’t very nice.

Also, if he took the tour, he will have seen the many photos of movie stars with which Anne decorated her room. I remember Ginger Rogers was one. Perhaps that’s what prompted him to write what he did.

Ohh...Borges, we can agree. Comparing Beiber to James Dean is a bit of a sacrilege.
