BELMAR, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) A southern New Jersey woman of Korean descent is suing CVS Pharmacy, claiming a worker used an Asian slur to identify her on a receipt for photographs.
Attorney Susan Chana Lask said Hyun Lee used her own name when ordering pictures online, but noticed her name was listed as Ching Chong Lee on the receipt when she picked up the photos on Feb. 7 at a CVS in Egg Harbor City.
Honestly Im just horrified about this whole thing, Lee told reporters, including CBS 2′s Steve Langford. It just brought back all the memories of growing up as a minority.

So she goes from being “Ching Chong Lee” to being “Cha Ching Lee”?
so don’t shop at CVS ever again. Tacky clerk, she should be fired. Suing someone is now the American dream?
I am amused that nearly every one assumes the woman is telling the truth.....
but hey she and her layer think CVS profit is 300 billion a year (yea right)
New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Mass, R.I...wherever...you can always count on their citizens trying to get rich by being a ‘victim’ of something.
Very nice...quick wit...kudos.
So a couple of words = permanent lasting damage valued at 1 million?
Wrong.
This is no worse that someone mangling the last name of someone with a French or Polish name. And the French and Polish don’t ask for a million dollars.
CVS could correct the error and send her a certified amended receipt that reads “Kimche Lee”.....
LOL. Good one.
And by the way, if any store owner wants to call me names or make fun of my ethnicity on my receipt, I’ll let them for the bargain price of only $10,000.
LOL, We seriously have a cat named Cha Ching, obviously we are racist.
Translation: I am absolutely ecstatic there is the possibility I could win a lot of money.
gotta little change in my pocket goin jing a ling a ling.....
And why do you think the woman is telling the truth?
My husband is Lithuanian, our last name is really difficult, it is not pronounced the way it is spelled, I was not offended when the local grocery clerk tried an tried and tried, then finally looked at me with a big smile and said, “thank you Mrs. Periwinkle”.
I laughed, I thought it was funny, never occurred to me to sue anyone.
LOL, good one!
Well I wouldn't necessarily blame CVS. Back in the 1990's I worked at Radioshack and we had some kid do the same thing. He already had another job lined up so he decided to "go out with a bang" and started filling out all the receipts with insults and racial/sexual slurs, (luckily the system DID have a filter so he couldn't put in obvious slurs like the "N" word, but he did manage to put "Pickin Cotton" on a black man's receipt and "Big Mama" on a rather large ladies receipt. Sure enough, their were MANY complaints and he was quickly terminated, thankfully with some apologizing and generous store credit, that was the end of it (luckily that was long before Facebook and Twitter).
So you make a national story over it and now millions of people across the internet are making "Ching Chong" jokes at your expense?!?
oh please, this woman wants a hand out and sadly many lawyers will help her .
ching chong cha ching , what ever the woman like so many today want handouts and play victim.
It brought memories of growing up a minority.
You know when I lived in places where I was a minority and hated it I moved, I did not moan and threaten lawsuits or even tell others to change.
