Canada Free Press ^ | 4/21/2013 | Alan Caruba

Monday, April 22, is Earth Day. Begun in 1970, it led to the creation of the Environmental Protection Agency, along with the Clean Air, Clean Water, and Endangered Species Acts. It is the global platform for the Big Lie that carbon dioxide (CO2) is causing the Earth to warm and the basis of the environmental movement’s ceaseless efforts to reduce the use of energy for any reason.

Gassing up the vehicles to make sure they can idle all day in the driveway. May get some 100 watt bulbs to put in all the lighting fixtures to leave on all day. Be a prepper too.

They didn’t mention that April 22 was Lenin’s birthday (real name Vladimir Ulyanov . . . what is with the reds and pseudonyms?)

“They didn’t mention that April 22 was Lenin’s birthday (real name Vladimir Ulyanov . . . what is with the reds and pseudonyms?)”

Or that April 22, 1970 was the EXACT 100th anniversary of his birth...no doubt a coincidence (yep, right).

Harley straight pipes.
Long ride.
Lots of jack-rabbiting and throttle-wrenching.

Steak for all three meals. Lots of unnecessary errands. Too bad I can't run the heat and the AC at the same time. Maybe I could buy a window unit and run it, along with the heat, with every window open...

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!

It's also my birthday (and Jack Nicholson's). I always celebrate by lighting a cigar in a public place.

(I like my pseudonym.)

Doesn’t Earth Day coincide with Stalin’s birthday?

Carbon dioxide? Wasn't there a time in Earth's history when there was more CO2 than oxygen? Didn't that help create the plant life? But now that man creates a tiny portion of all the CO2 produced by the planet, it is suddenly a huge problem and the US has to pay a lot of money to...."someone" because we "produce the most of the small percentage that Man creates"?

Carbon credits are the elephant in the room. How does paying money to "buy" carbon credits from someone like Al Gore (so you can continue to produce CO2) help reduce CO2? What is so special about Gore and his minions that they can "sell" the ability to produce CO2?

Not that paying that money to the government in the form of taxes would help (much), as the gub'mint would just put the money into the general fund and spend it on slush funds and not on anything particular like, oh say, research to help reduce the actual production of CO2.

Low information voters cost us dearly, but then so does a press that doesn't do the job intended for it when the Founding Fathers gave them the First Amendment.
