Forgive my early speculation, but Who will play who in the Boston Bomber movie?
April 21 2012 | John Mason

First of all, I want to express my sorrow to the dead and injured from the bombs that went off at the marathon, and those otherwise injured in pursuit of the two chechnyn brothers. I have high praise for the police and medical units who acted and saved lives. As many creative people know, most creativity comes from observing what happens around us. Its; very common for big events in our culture to end up on a screen, be that the television, or in a theatre. Some will first be formed as books, then plays of collected vignettes. There were many filmed portrayals of 9/11, and years later of (what we have been asked to accept as) the night Osama Bin Laden was caught, killed and disposed of, all this done to OBL body with remarkable rapidity, before the next crack of dawn! We just made a big dollar hit movie out of Lincoln.

So who is going to write, produce, star in this film about the Boston Marathon Bombings? There is so much material, it almost demands production. For many citizens of Boston, it will be known as Hell Week. They share the public memory of that first day, the shock of the bombing and it's gruesome destruction, They will recall the days of Boston on Lockdown as slow and eerily quiet, The memories will conclude with the blizzard of gunfire, carjacking, car used as a battering ram, followed by more quiet, ending in a hiding place, the boat that almost became his coffin. The will recall the media guessing games, trying to be first, trying to be 'fair'. If Mel Gibson is momentarily clear of mind and able to work with people, he could do a good portrayal.

I think it’s a little too soon to be speculating on something as stupid as this.

Pee Wee Herman as the younger brother and Tom Hanks as the older brother.

And Anthony Hopkins, reviving his role as Hannibal Lector, as the father.

Ellen Degeneres is too likable. They need someone people hate. Rosie and Pier Morgan would be a better choice.

Ben Affleck will play the older brother, bank on it. He’ll produce it. too.

Holy cow! That would be incredible. If he does as well as he did doing Argo, it would be a great movie. You made a great choice!!!!

Robert Redford will direct it and it will star Sean Penn as Dszarnut. It will show how heroically they risked their lives to fight evil capitalists and how it was necessary to wake Americans up to the Evil that they are.

Tom Cruise could play Tamerlan. A thousand no-name actors could audition for younger brother’s role. Then, while the movie is playing in the theaters, more Muslim extremists could make some political points.

‘Make a movie about the victims” I think that is frankly the best idea on this I’ve heard so far. Each victim, and their relatives, and their neighbors, and their doctors, their priests, their mechanics’ their masseuse, babysitter, first grade teacher, first employer out of the home, last ex-wife. Most folks have lives touched closely by other people. All these people are now reacting to what has happened to the person they used to know. What was Before has become After.

It seems in bad taste, possibly extremely bad taste, but I kinda wanna cast this movie too.

David Krumholtz and Shia LaBeouf as Tamerlan and Dzhokar

(yes a couple of Jews, take that)

Jurgen Prochnow as the estranged uncle. (real resemblance, as soon as I saw this thread it popped into my mind)

Betty White as Barack Obama cause that’s how much leadership he’s shown.

Michael Moore as the boat.

Have Arnold Schwarzenegger’s character from “True Lies” be the one to catch Dzhokar.

Disgusting, he took an American girl and made her dress up like a Jawa.

Just for that toss one more pig on his grave.

That’s an insult, to Mr. Hankey. A literal piece of crap would be better than Obama.
