My guy here in Maryland gave us a rain tax.

That was to go along with his flush tax.

My own well, my own toilet and septic system and he charges me for taking a crap, Plus when the rain falls on my drive way that is taxed.

Leftists are working to impose those taxes everywhere. Our city council imposed the rainwater run-off tax here, to ‘defray the cost of treating the water’. The state is looking at new taxes on wells. It will start with big users, but they are making noises about requiring all well owners to have a monitoring device & everyone knows the next step will be another tax. After all, the water ‘belongs to the state’.

A bill before the General Assembly’s Judiciary Committee today would require manufacturers to set up a “mattress stewardship program” to deal with all those old mattresses you see on the side of the road.

I haven't seen mattresses abandoned beside roads since I left the People's Democratic Republic of California in 2002. Actually, now I stop to think about it, I also haven't seen beer cans flying out of car windows, candy bar wrappers, dirty diapers, et cetera.

We need a limit on the size of mattresses. Who needs a queen or king sized mattress? A double mattress should be enough. Plus it would encourage people to lose weight.

And we need to make sure beds don't have assault headboards as well.

‘’’to deal with all those old mattresses you see on the side of the road.’’’

SO... if we tax the maufacturer, people will stop tossing matresses out the side of the road.

Well that makes about as much sense as any other tax so yeah, lets go with that.

(rolleyes)
