My guess is, the C-suite ordered Engineering to build a NON-LETHAL shotshell. Marketing went to work and created packaging and brochures touting NON-LETHAL. Everything was ready to go!

And then Legal got hold of it and changed the wording to “Less Lethal”. :-)

I remember them. My Mother used similar hair rollers. They had a plastic cage around the outside that clamped shut on the hair. Them things were OLD in the 50s-60s when I saw them. She was a beautician in the mid-1940s thru the mid-1950s.
