But it has about the highest ridership and lowest car commute. Looks to me it’s done it’s job. Sorry to say. It’s a good system and it shows.
That is true. Time is far more important than distance. I used to live 25 miles from work, but it was the 45 minute commute that made me move. Now I live less than four miles away, but the urban commute means I am still 15 minutes away — damn you red lights!!!
Even though it is close, I still hate the commute. If it wasn’t for the fact that my company would call me in at all hours if I lived across the street, I would move across the street.
Yeah, but the Austin Silly council managed to get bike lanes put on major roads. What do you think about the 3' for cars and 6' for trucks clearance ordinance the council just passed? No more travel for me into the city, except to visit my cardiologist.
Have never been to Puerto Rico, but recently spent a week in Grenada and must assume their drivers are in the running.
I just knew Washington DC would be *up there*
DC is the worst, will always be the worst. It’s as if they stopped spending on vehicle infrastructure because they got the subway....
The basic design wasn’t ideal for traffic, wasn’t meant to be, but outside of that area there’s no excuse for the poor traffic engineering.
Thanks. I was thinking it was near Abiquiu.
I know, it is a cadilac. Only the best for our rulers.
Dittos to that lap. I’m way up and out! ‘Heavy traffic’ up here is when more than my usual 5 deer pals cruise up to my deck each morning around 10 for their daily cracked corn and apple slices chow stop! I can’t imagine living anywhere but up in the mountains. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere near a larger city with the hell that is quickly coming.
Good for you, bobby.223. And .280 regards to you!
I don’t know how fast it’s going to happen but at least most on our side should be better prepared.
Do you think TSHTF this summer?
I don’t go into Austin for any reason. I love my wide-open scenic hilly curvy drive to Cedar Park and that’s it.
Yeah just try driving in Chicago...the Dan Ryan...the Kennedy at any time sides the middle of the night then every one is doing 90. As far as the north side...Western... Fullerton... Belmont...parking lots.
Ummm... And where’s Houston in all of this?
3 of 10 are California cities... Hmmm....
LOL
I cant believe Houston didnt make the list.”
That was one of the names I was looking for also. Traffic must really be terrible in the other cities if we didn’t make it. Add in some rain and hail like we had Saturday and you best not be out and about.
Flipped on the TV this morning at 5 a.m. and there was already a solid stream of lights coming into the city from all directions.
Reason number 23 why I love living out in the country.
Thank Obama for creating less traffic jams due to the horrible economy. There are less people working to clog up the roads during drive times. And less traffic in general because we don’t have the money to drive.
This summer? Very well could. There are so many ‘right on the edge’ festering concerns right now that just any one of ‘em if sparked off could snow ball all the others along compounding the nightmare.
That makes sense. There’s a lot of pent up anger out there. The powers that be want TSTHTF.
