I loved DS9, I felt it was very unappreciated. IMO The Founders were a far superior foe than the Borg was. They created their own beings for support, they could shapeshift and overtake the highest levels of office and they manage to bring the three major powers of the Alpha and Beta quadrant together.

Huh? Star Trek is about as far left as you could go. Save the Whales, no capitalism, etc etc. Star Wars had all those you listed for Star Trek..And Lucas was a moderate Republican until later in his career, he isnt as far left as Spielberg.

THANK YOU! As an Original Trilogy fan I think comparing the IDEA of SW to ST is laughable. ST was/is Earth based. All they could imagine is going to space and finding...Lincoln, Napoleon, Genghis Khan?? Sad. SW was vast in scope, about saving a galaxy, a religion, the ultimate conflict of good/evil.
If all you want from a film is ‘kewl’ gadgets and explosions and soft porn ‘babes’- then ST is for you. If you want vast scope and mythology and sci-fi/fantasy that is not about EARTH in any way...welcome to the Light side of the Force!

You are right. ST was-and is- preachy leftwing BS. Now it’s being dumbed down further. Why-in the ‘future’ of mankind are they always obsessed with the past? ST was cheesy in the 60’s and it’s big, embarrassing, PC, and cheesy now.
And I loathe the Prequel Trilogy- it’s not MY SW- nor are the abominable ‘novels’.

You are correct about the Dominion, the Borg are like a force of a nature, The Dominion creates genetically engineered slave races that WANT to serve the Founders.

Hence Ketracel White.

Keep the Jem'Hadar in line. (and the Overseeing Vorta, who individually have next to no worth because they can be replaced like a spare tire)

Please show links where Lucas was ever a "moderate Republican," his early roots in California agriculture notwithstanding (I'm quite familiar with them). Lucas is a screaming and arrogant liberal to make Spielberg look like nothing. I've done my research on the man, and I have also met him personally. He is a leftist liberal of an ilk closer to Obama than to Spielberg.

His fables are BEREFT of love for God, and promote the idea that one should seek worldly and supernatural power. They are anti-biblical in a sense. Star Trek promotes love of man, love of life, freedom -- How on EARTH can either of you two guys squawk that ST is "liberal" if you had read the two quotes from Kirk in my post? Because you didn't read them. The one on indivual freedom and choice, the one on balance of power -- they are conservative and freedom-loving to their core, while Yoda's LYING and WRONG quote that "Fear is the path to the dark side," is pablum crap of an order that NEVER occurred in ST.

Star Wars is a false and wrong ethic in its fables, if not in its so-called "anti Imperialist" plot. Star Trek is Christian and righteous in its fables, if stupid enough to fall for the "save the whales" crap. At least the destructio nof the earth due to their extinction would have been caused by an outside force4 -- that is OPPOSITE of the environmentalist creed that predicts mankind destroying the planet by his own acts.

Yuu guys are sheep if you allow yourselves to be charmed by the likes of phony, anti-biblical Star Wars.

Apologies as the quotes I refer to weren't in the posts you replied to.

Yoda says:

"Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering."

Wholly FALSE. Fear is a survival response instinctive in all creatures. Fear is a warming mechanism without which any creature would die very quickly.

Envy, covetousness, pride, sloth, guttony, anger avarice, lust for power, cruelty, slavery, dependency, defiance of the 10 Commandments -- they are the true paths to the dark side. Fear is a response. Hate is an indulgence. Suffering is a consequence.

To blame hate, anger, and suffering on fear is beyond stupid -- it is destructive.

In Star Trek, James T. Kirk says actually TRUE things regarding freedom of self-direction and responsibility to maintain peace, like:

"Without freedom of choice there is no creativity. The body dies."

And:

"The only solution is ... a balance of power. We arm our side with exactly that much more. A balance of power ... the trickiest, most difficult, dirtiest game of them all. But the only one that preserves both sides."

Window dressing via rebels fighting imperialists gives false "conservative" color to Star Wars. Truly Christian messages and values of love for each other and figuring out how to solve problems while respecting live and love, are the truly "conservative" foundations of Star Trek.

But most true of all -- Star Trek at its worst is still galaxies superior to the politically-correct gratuitious moron putz that was Jar Jar Binks!

Science fiction and Fantasy are not distinguishable from one another.
