Michelle Obama's Favorite Dress: How to Choose Your Own Go-To Frock (this should be good)
Yahoo ^ | 5/24/13 | Sarah Weir

Why mess with a good thing? Michelle Obama is known for recycling her favorite outfits and there is one item she goes back to again and again: a bold wisteria print dress by designer Tracy Feith.

By our count, she's worn the dress (which cost about $720 retail) at least seven times since she debuted it on January 21, 2009, the day after President Barack Obama's inauguration, at a non-denominational prayer service held at the Washington National Cathedral followed by a luncheon. On Wednesday, she donned it again to visit the historic Decatur House.

While we mortals might shop our own closets every day, many figures in the public eye shun recycling their own clothing. Joanna Douglas, Yahoo! Shine's senior Fashion and Beauty editor has a theory, "FLOTUS is very practical when it comes to dressing. She packs light for vacation and rewears the same dresses within a very short period of time, unlike celebrities who are afraid to wear the same thing twice. I think women appreciate that she just digs into her closet like anyone else."

I make no apologies. I did NOT read the entire article, nor do I care how or why FLOTUS dresses the way she does. Nor do I need advice from a fashion blogger on how to wear an outfit more than once.

What astounds me is that she, or anyone, would pay $720 for a dress made from my granny's old tablecloth.....and LIKE it.

I got an easier way to look like FLOTUS...

Spend all day, every day, at Golden Corral.

That may be the cruelest (if not funniest) pic ever.

It is the final word — regarding the “glamor” of America’s first First Lady who is not a lady.

That look isn’t all that bad.

Something bright, loose fitting and the correct length hemline works for someone with her ...er...physique.

“Spend all day, every day, at Golden Corral.”

As a born and bred Midwesterner, that there is the feed trough.

someone is getting paid a journalist salary to track the fact that she wore this unflattering $720 rag 7 times and to cite this as an example of thrift being one of the first goddesses’ virtues!

what a hoot!

Oh, that is just so painful and awkward to observe. Its like seeing a greasy pulled pork sandwich on the same plate as two luscious slices of cheesecake.

I guess. If you like fabric that was inspired by the wallpaper in the john at Macaroni Grill.

That may be the cruelest (if not funniest) pic ever.

And IIRC it's a Photoshop made by a FReeper. He took two pictures of them walking up the same steps and merged them.

Now I'm going to be thinking about that all day.

That’s much better than some of the outfits she’s worn. That woman could make the website “people of Wal-Mart” cringe.

That Wisteria dress looks like one I had in 1988 when “Chintz” and big sleeves were considered fashionable. Even I (who keeps clothes for years) discarded that one at least 15 years ago.

Leave it to Bigfoot to be a fan of the hideous, loud prints that have taken over. No taste = ugly clothes.
