#2 During Obama's first term, the federal government accumulated more debt than it did under the first 42 U.S presidents combined. #4 If you started paying off just the new debt that the U.S. has accumulated during the Obama administration at the rate of one dollar per second, it would take more than 184,000 years to pay it off. #27 Back in 1965, only one out of every 50 Americans was on Medicaid. Today, one out of every 6 Americans is on Medicaid, and things are about to get a whole lot worse. It is being projected that Obamacare will add 16 million more Americans to the Medicaid rolls.

Wow....by 2006 all the signs were there for a housing collapse....esp in areas like Florida and Nevada.....where we were giving folks lo
ans of 110% of the house...who had minimum wage jobs

I notice people quote a lot of economic babble that originates from liberal schools....from people who have no clue how economics really works

There were a couple of freepers I remember ( Texan and Hydroschock) that constantly warned about the housing bubble. They were a small warning voice in the wind. I learned that it is important to listen to learn and Do your own diligence .

Another good reason to flee America while you can.
I do not expect America to recover in my lifetime, if ever.
Idiots now outnumber real people. I do not see ever returning.

#25 According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 49 percent of all Americans live in a home that receives direct monetary benefits from the federal government.

Yet, those households are bringing in more money than my household is. Someone please explain that.

I would say my nightly prayers and thank God that I was lucky to be born in the U.S., because even though we were poor, I could grow up and be anything I wanted to be, and free to believe anything I wanted.

Ain't it grand that a kid born someplace else was free to grow up to be president of the US. Praise be, Allah.

Liberals, taker, couldn’t care less. We conservatives keep attacking this problem as thought they care to have a prosperous country; they don’t. They want to take this country down. They have no idea what they would put in its place but they hate this country. They are simple minded idiot that are led around by pop culture and commercialism. They have no idea how to take control of their life, so, life being complicated to them, they desire its destruction.

As I posted previously, I watched “Dr. Zhivago” today, andwhen he came home from war, opened the door to his house, it was full of people and he didn’t know what to think. Someone said they were from the housing commission, and that there was enough room in his house for 13 families! He knew better to say anything or get shot, so he says, “oh yes, much more just!”
Made me think of the agenda in our country today.

Excellent scene. It was the turning point. We are nearly there today. Just a few more months I suspect.

I have a friend in CA that purchased a nice house in a nice neighborhood (not cheap). During the housing downturn some of the houses were rented out to section 8. She didn’t know section 8 would pay that much for housing, but I guess it’s only “fair”, why shouldn’t druggies on welfare be able to live in good neighborhoods, why should she think because her and her husband worked long hours that they should be the only kind in that neighborhood? Oh, and they were conned into paying double prop tax for good schools that were never built.

I moved out a neighborhood awhile back that was once a nice area.

The county was starting to close a ghetto housing complex located about 15 miles from my neighborhood, and started to move the same Section 8ers to apartment complexes located about 1 mile from my subdivision.

Within about one year, things started to change.....for the worse. Our nice local supermarket was frequented mostly by Food Stampers and welfare leeches. There were several parks located near by, and they became crime havens. There was a basketball court in one adjacent subdivision that the homeowners paid for. That basketball court would have 20-30 "urban" yutes on it every night. No one who lived in that subdivision would go near it.

The police blotter on the local papers stopped publishing the worst of what was going on, or masking the facts. I had a friend who is a local cop, and he gave me the inside info of the real crime going on.

Then, the Section 8ers became more blatant - and cars were broken into at night. Lots of them. Then we had a couple of home invasions.

I moved out years ago, and we drove through that town not too long ago. It is AMAZING to see how fast it has gone downhill.

By the way, good luck trying to get the state or local agent to tell you where the Section 8ers are. It seems to be a more closely guarded secret than the Manhattan project.

Bout a year or so ago, my wife and I took a motorcycle trip from Texas to North Carolina. We stayed off the highways and wanted to travel off the beaten path.

Very sad. We noticed scuttled manufacturing facilities in almost all the small towns across the nation. Many small towns are simply drying up.

China-mart is the biggest employer in most of these towns. Folks making eight to ten bucks an hour, working 36hrs a week so the corp can avoid benefits and such.

Just sad.

Other than live in a small town or inthe country with ways to defend yourself, I don’t know what else you can do. When my kids were growing up, we worked hard to be able to afford a nicer neighborhood so they wouldn’t be around bad influences, but that logic doesn’t work anymore.

Driving trips are a fav of mine as well. Off the beaten track. No Interstates. Just Federal and State highways.

I’ve seen the same as you. Factories down, plants shut down, boarded up store fronts in downtown. Even churches closed.

So sad.

It will be neigh impossible to bring that back. We are so far down in the hole.

It’s hard to be so depressed about a country I love so much.

Makes me angry that so many ask...what about me...me. What can I get. How’z this/that going to affect my wallet.

No patriotism.

There are so many in this country that don't give a rats patookie about this nation. They have no idea what's in the bill of rights/constitution. Don't care.

As long as they can benefit in one way or another. When she sinks, they just go back to the cesspool in which they came.
