It's Acer's new 8-inch Windows 8 tablet, the Iconia W3, which the company just announced today.
The W3 runs a full version of Windows 8 on an Intel processor, meaning it's compatible with older Windows apps in addition to the new touch-friendly Windows 8 apps.
It'll cost $379 when it goes on sale in the US, but there's no release date yet. (Apple's iPad Mini, which is a bit smaller and an only run tablet-optimized apps, starts at $329.) Acer also didn't mention how much storage the US version will come with.
Other specs and features:
An optional Bluetooth keyboard.
Expandable storage with an SD card.
Plays 720p HD video.
8.1-inch screen, 11.35 mm thin.

Too bad they didn’t make the keyboard the same size, like the surface tablets. This looks clunkey.

Don’t go near it then. If you install it or buy it on a non-touch tech platform you don’t understand what it is developed for.
On a touch platform it works fine, faster and more versatile than an IPad. For non-touch platforms, stick with Win 7 or if you are a MS hater then stick with whatever the latest Linux or Google flavor is that you like.

This gives me two things I would need in a tablet...
1. Ability to run Windoze applications
2. USB port
Apple doesn’t.

I use computers constantly (Win 7 Pro). I’ve never been able to accept the moronic, “grade schoolish” icons on Win8. They are visually terrible compared to those on iOS.

I like it.I must defer to an apparently superior intelligence. I've had it over a month and still can't find out how to scan a photo. On the old system I could open the device (copier with fax and scan), and scan would be one of the choices. On this one it is not there at all.

I manage a few Acer Iconia A200 tablets. They are Android based and have a 10.1" screen. I really like them.

When I do it the "Windows Scan" feature pops up...

I like it too, as long it’s on a touch enabled screen/system. Otherwise I run it from the desktop and put icons for my favorite apps there. Everything runs smoothly and fast!
