Parents who read their kids stories about happy, human-like animals like Franklin the Turtle or Arthur at bedtime are exposing their kids to racism, materialism, homophobia and patriarchal norms, according to a paper presented at the Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences.

Good.
You mean, like Farfur??
I guess it beats having to work for a living. I didn't even know we had one of these.
How much longer can these re7ards be taken seriously?
But sending them to a church with a pastor such as Jeremiah Wright or Rev Jackson is A ok,
Well, now we’ve come full circle from Grimm’s fairy tales being too violent . . . .
These are probably people who have never had kids in their pathetic lives. AFAIC, they can shove their useless theories up their asses.
Like Bugger-Me-Elmo?
I guess she would have a problem with:
“Narcoleptic Physically Attractive person”
or
“Caucasian Female and the Seven Vertically Challenged People”
and
“Victim of a Blended Family Forced into Household Slavery”
Isn’t this report discriminatory against furries?

So the left eats their own again, LOL they love their own sick twisted logic don;t they...
LOL, indeed they can. These people need professional help.
The scholars from various academic disciplines meet for two or three days each but the whole congress goes on for a week or two.
It used to be known as "the Learneds" (for Learned Societies), but some of the academics in the social science fields objected to being considered a learned society so they changed the name.
This article is just stoopid (sic).
Little kids are not the empty-headed mush brains that some people think they are. They can reason, and figure it out for themselves.
Remember that Dr. Seuss book “Yertle The Turtle”? Most of us learned to read it when we were about five years old.
The king wanted to be higher than everybody. But the little turtle at the bottom of the stack was suffering more than all the rest of them. And he burped. And his burp brought the king down, plunged him into the mud. It’s a brilliant analogy, and little kids get it.
Dr. Seuss was a genius.
Will Disney be making that into a movie?
But to the OT, this woman is insane. The traditional family was not just some randomly out of nowhere construct.
It has existed since before recorded history.
And why WOULDN'T it be the norm?
It's only over the psst 40-50 years that it was even considered "weird".
No, a single mom with 8 kids by 5 dads, on welfare, living off the sweat and labor of others is "weird".
I doubt there has been a historical precedent for that in any society.
The children's book "Why Mommy is a Democrat"
I'm glad I read these to my kids, and that they continued to read them and watch the TV shows!
I hope they're still on TV.
hey, cool....those blocks have an “O” and “M” for Obama and michelle...and three other blocks spell out ‘RAT’. excellent work. :P
