RECON TRIP!

I've found two suitable cottage/cabin facilities that can accommodate our group for next years TCMS.

Mill Creek Ranch Resort
(available Oct16 weekend)

and

Lake Whitney Marina
(available both weekends)

mylife will look into less known possibilities.

We might have to rent golf carts or get a waiver from Mill Creek. This is sort of weird.
Please Note: Our cottage area is built with the serenity of our owners in mind. Therefore there are no automobiles allowed in the cottage area. A complimentary concierge service is available to escort you with your luggage to the cottages and back to your vehicle or to the features of the resort. Golf Carts are also available for daily rental based on avaiability and can be reserved at the Grand Lodge.

Yup. First time I heard that was by my brother-in-law who was a genuine pack-train cowboy. Hearing it from a prim and proper young lady was enough to make one shoot cola all over his screen. LOL

The Range will likely not be in good condition at that time of year.

If it works out anything like this last one, neither will the shooters be in too good of shape.

“prim and proper young lady”

No one who saw me drive my truck over a fence, bird bath, and steel ramps would ever believe such a thang. ;p

Mar might work, but weather is iffy in the spring.

Gun Barrel City looks pretty promising.

I like the sound of it too. ☺

I have friends in the are that maybe able to steer us to places that are more “let yer hair down friendly”

I may even be able to arrange some horseback riding, but being rode hard and put away wet is prolly a no no.

Odd that you mention that. They just updated their website:

Please Note: Our cottage area is built with the serenity of our owners in mind. Therefore there are no automobiles or drunken FReepers allowed in the cottage area. A complimentary concierge service is available to escort you with your luggage and arsenal to the cottages and back to your vehicle or to the features of the resort. Golf Carts are also available for daily rental based on avaiability and can be reserved at the Grand Lodge, but not by drunken FReepers or for transporting arsenals.

The Lake Whitney Marina looks promising.

They have 16 rentals available of various capacities and configurations.(some are floating)

Pets are welcome...$25 for small ones & $50 for large ones.

They have a 12’ x 60’ (converted trailer) club house with a deck. (sounds very red-neck, I like it!) Free to us if we book all the rentals.

The reservations policy is they only charge the first night on your CC. Rates are ~$20 less than summer rates.

My only question would be if 16 cabins were enough...??? Looks great otherwise.
