BANFF, Alta. — A Banff man took the phrase “pics or it didn’t happen” to another level over the weekend when he managed to snap photos of a wolf chasing him down the highway while riding his motorcycle.

Tim Bartlett was travelling north on Hwy. 93 South in Kootenay National Park on Saturday afternoon when a wolf crossed a lane of traffic to try to intercept his motorcycle. Bartlett rode for another 100 metres up the highway before looking back to watch the wolf, which had stopped in the middle of the road before making its way back into the trees.

He should have just stopped and let the wolf catch him. They’re really funny when they actually catch the vehicle they’re chasing. What could possibly go wrong?

Good point. “Hey, Bob, you remember that story about the sleigh riders in Siberia? And how they were chased by wolves? And how they solved it? See ya, Bob.”

Reminds me of those storm chasers the other week.

Still not as impressive as the guy who pulled over in Yellowstone and had a grizzly chase a wounded bison right past him...

>> the guy who pulled over

Looks like he’s taking the shots standing there in the middle of the road.

Impressive photos.

The reason dogs , wolves chase vehicles is because they are noisy and irritate the hell out of the animal. Not only that but they give off noxious odors which screw up the animals sense of smell. When they catch it they bite it because they’re trying to kill it or run it off.

‘He should have just stopped and let the wolf catch him.’

The wolf was later spotted going on-line to order some rocket-sled paws from the Acme store.

BTW, what goes best with Canadian, white or red wine?

This is gonna sound stupid.. but that wolf wanted a ride. That was actually a hitchhiking attempt.

Had one, I know how they think.
