Lady in “Goodbye My Lady”. It had Walter Brennan, Phil Harris, Brandon DeWilde (the kid from Shane), and Sidney Poitier.
Plus the dog was a Basenji... coolest dogs ever!

what kind of dog is Mr. Peabody and do they call him that because of the way he smells but who cares really just get a beagle they are the smartest being on the planet and they can provide air support
Golden Retriever. Get a reputable breeder and pick your pup. I get females because they seem to be extremely pack oriented and don’t want to roam. Of course, never say never. Be sure to put in tons of time - daily. Thirty minutes to an hour of focussed time, especially when they are pups learning the ropes and bonding. Go to puppy school or the like to learn how to be the master; don’t do this and the dog will control you. When mature, they still need to walk daily (or exercise close to it) and at least 10-15 minutes of face time.
Do these simple things and your animal will astound you. Retrievers are some of the smartest dogs and clearly smarter than many people. Truly, man’s best friend.
Don’t take the time to do the things the animal needs and you’ll have a mess on your hands. Goes for human kids, too.
