Didn’t bother to look at Dr. Schroeder’s essay I see. And you dodged the questions in #18. Physics is not your strong suit, eh? Well, it is a strong suit for Dr. Schroeder.
I will grant that it is possible to get more than one growth ring in a calendar year, due to local conditions of rain and drought. I'll even go so far as to agree that IF you based all your tree ring dating on trees from one small area, you could be misled.
Unfortunately for you, the basis is spread out and cross checked from area to area, continent to continent, hemisphere to hemisphere.
If you prefer to base your entire belief system on the interpretation of one medieval man of one book, a book that was intended as a guide to mankind and his relationships with God and each other, not as a textbook on boat building, astronomy, physics and the history of every breath drawn by every person who ever lived, and is told from the viewpoint of a single tribe wandering the the desert, more power to you, I guess.
Yeah, not to him anyway. Perhaps it will matter to Him, the God of Truth, that one does not blindly follow the Prince of Lies in the name of following Him.

Wrong, I’ve read this article a couple of times from posters like you - I just don’t get the same ‘translation’ that you get is all.
You seem to think it supports long ages - I think it explains ‘apparent long ages’ that are in fact approx 6,000 years as so many outside sources also support. Gravitational time dilation due to lower gravitational affects where long ages are ‘found’...
but then you will probably still refuse to grasp these concepts fully - sigh...
To the point of the adult discussion, one would believe God would deceive humankind if one believes the Universe or Earth is only 6000 years old when all that God has created and we are gradually coming to understand point to the universe being billions of years old and Earth at least 3+ billion years in the making to now.
An alternate perspective is that God lets humans generate principles of Physics which point to a very old Universe (from our perspective this far since Creation by Him) based upon principles in Physics which when tested over and over and over and relied upon to make advancements in energy use and technologies. That perspective is also fraught with petulence on The Creator's part, in allowing such a deception/duplicity to stand and humans to base their daily welfare upon the trick. God is not a trickster.
You have a perspective which requires magic thinking. Whereas believing that God has a means to Create what we see and He sees it as being seven or less days old but we seeing it from our position as billions of years old is more rational. You really ought to take the time to read Shroeder's exposition. It is a praise to God, not an opposition to His sovereignty.
So where in ‘your’ Bible does God stop lying? The genealogies show a clear and distinct line from the 1st man and woman, Adam and Eve, thru to Jesus Christ. I simply subscribe to the plain reading of the Word of God - to do any other is to do an injustice to God and His Word imho.
Of course it does also warm against people adding to and subtracting from the Word of God on the very last page if you have bothered to read.
Oh and btw the holy physics you keep referring to are wrought with assumptions on top of assumptions. Put simply science can not repeat history therefore science can not do history nor tell anyone with 100% certainty when, where, and why something in the past happened. But the Bible does and it does it time after time after time as science reluctantly shows for those reading the Word and paying attention.
It is impossible to have an open discussion with someone who will not at the very least look at other possible ways of viewing the advent of Adam and Eve. We know that God did something with Adam that had not been in any other living things on the planet. But we should not infer that there were no other humans or human like creatures on the planet when God di that. You are inferring a whole lot in order to set the limits for your assertion. If that is all you can allow into your mind, have nice day. I won’t trouble you further.
