I’m not sure what year this came out but it was in a jukebox at a restaurant a couple of years ago. Loved it. Actually started to dance to it with my date. Very romantic.

Yeah, but in the cowtowns of Abiline Kansas and Abiline Texas, at the time the guy was singing about ... thre wasn’t Sharia law! I hope you’re just joking about the song being about Abiline, Syria!!

Yeah, but in the cowtowns of Abiline Kansas and Abiline Texas, at the time the guy was singing about .

George Hamilton didn't identify which Abilene he was singing about. Since it's apparently on a railroad--he wishes the trains were carrying him there--I figure it must have been the town of Souk Wadi Barrada, once known as Abila, which is on the Beirut-Damascus railroad, about 17 miles west of Damascus. Last month, Israeli bombers struck in the vicinity.
