I used to like the PJ Media site a lot.
But the last couple of weeks, every time I go to a new page I get a @#&*!@&! popup, wanting me to subscribe to their service which will fill up my mailbox with stuff I don't want.
The popup has a button that says "I've already subscribed" which leads me to believe that even if I give them my email address it won't stop.
I've tried every option I can find in Firefox and Adblocker to make this bloody thing stop showing up. And I've "signed up" using a throwaway address site, too, still no joy.
Anyone have any suggestions?
LOL
Quit going to bigjuggs.com???
If you are using Firefox, install the AdBlock Plus add-in. When the popup pops up, right-click on it and choose “block image.”

I believe that Notary Sojac prefers to keep that “pop-up”.
Usually, with stuff like this you can:
Go to process manager.
look at applications running.
If it shows the ad as distinct app, just terminate it.
Finished.
Try Tools/Content Tab/Block Pop-Ups.
I use Opera, but also have FF, and no pop-ups occur when I just tried it. I tried AdBlock on Opera but had to disable it since it blocked streaming (Chris Plante, Rush, Mark Levin) radio pop-ups.
I opened an email address just for that purpose, so I can comment on the page, in fact pjmedia is one of them. I just go to the address every so often and delete everything, don’t even bother to read any of it.

That may be the problem right there. I don’t use Firefox so don’t know exactly where, but find out where the cookie list is and delete any from PJmedia.
I agree because he does sound like an aviator when says, “no joy”.
If I can’t go to a site and browse without interference, I consider that site defective and I don’t go there any more. They don’t let me read, I’m gone.
Best way to stop pop ups?
Tell the webmaster that you will no longer visit the site because of the pop ups; and then go somewhere else.
side/top/bottom bar ads are fine, but items that take over the screen are offensive. Let them know.
BTW -FR does not use that stuff, just sayin’ . . .
Check box, “I’m already subscribed”.
Bump for later
Isn’t this the site that changed most of its content to a paid “insider” subscription?
I didn’t find it worth the money and unsubscribed. I understand sites need to get paid for their content, but you can’t pay for every site and newspaper and magazine that thinks they are worth $5-20 per month.
Too bad, but the information highway is slowly becoming a toll road—so I have to travel on the free roads.
Alternatively, right click the ABP icon, click 'select an element to hide', punch 'H' to hide the dialog box, then move your mouse around til the popup is selected (red border), then just left click inside the bordered popup.
What’s a popup?
