An artist who created a wax model of Spanish dictator Francisco Franco frozen in a fridge has been cleared from a lawsuit against him presented by the leaders foundation.
Eugenio Marino grabbed the limelight at last years ARCO modern art fair in Madrid with his satirical work of art, titled Always Franco.
The piece depicted the nationalist leader in full military gear frozen inside a Coca-Cola fridge.

"This just in....Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead."
Looking at all of the socialist thugs running Europe into the ground these days....Franco looks pretty good compared to them. Spain was much better off when he was in charge.
The Franco Foundation sued the sculptor for "dishonouring" the former dictator.
Apparently, in Spain, one can sue someone for "dishonoring" someone else (even if that person is a dead fascist dictator).
The public prosecutor asked for the charges to be dropped because the work was "in keeping with current social usage."
Apparently, no mention of "Freedom of Speech" (yes, I know that this was in Spain, not America).
Regards,
I would have thought the lawsuit came from Coca Cola
Um, no. There is no “lesser evil” argument burgeoning here. This is a man who handed lists of Spanish Jews to his Nazi allies. Franco is of the same descent as today’s “socialist thug” elites running the European Union.
You could not be MORE WRONG.
Franco SAVED the lives of about 2,000 Jews.
This has been documented in Jewish publications.

Maybe one day people will see how cleverly Franco played Hitler like a fiddle and managed to keep his country out of WWII and joining forces with the Axis Powers.
Franco saved Spain, the man is a hero. Saved 200,000 Jews as well.
Hitler asked Franco to invade Gibraltar, which would have been a crucial base for the Nazis, Franco refused.
Franco was very useful to the Allies, by playing the neutral. Remember in “The Great Escape”, the few prisoners who made it, made it by entering Spain. And he saved Spain from the Comintern.
Uncited Jewish publications, I see.
I take the phrase “Jewish publications” with a grain of salt; take note of the great difference between Arutz Sheva and Ha’aretz, for just one example.
The matter of lists of Jews going from Franco to Hitler appeared in the Daily Telegraph. Were they “more wrong” on the matter? Does not preclude Franco suddenly changing up and exercising efforts to save Jews after seeing which way the wind was blowing, at a later time (which does not make Franco a stalwart hero by any stretch).
Yes, but as with Pope Piux XIII (who also save hundreds of thousands of Jews) and like Sen. Joe McCarthy (he was right on in all of his cases) he has been blacklisted and slimed by history-—written mostly of course by liberals.
I have actually read a lot on Franco. He wasn’t nearly as much as an ideologue as Hitler or Mussolini. Franco was motivated by three primary concerns: His devotion to the Church, his devotion to the monarchy, and his devotion to the military in which he served.
And of course they cover up the atrocities of the “Republicans”, their murdering of priests, etc.
I read that. Did Franco actually hand over the Jews to Hitler? Or did he simply hand him a list to pacify him?
There was a Pope Pius the Thirteenth?
I didn’t make any other claims besides Franco handing said list over.
The Spanish Republicans were actually Communists for the most part and yes they did butcher a large number of priests an nuns. I would have been fully behind Franco in this conflict. OK so he got aid from Germany and Italy. And the Communists....I a mean the Republicans were getting aid from Stalin at the same time.
