What's worse, there's people dying now who never died before.

Somebody ought to look into it.

RIP Mr. Farina.

I love how Vigoda has fun with reports of his “death.” His demise was erroneously reported on national news in 1982 and 1987.

I was on a trans-Atlantic flight into New York during the 1990’s which showed the movie Get Shorty. After we landed I wound up in the TWA lounge waiting for the next flight. Farina had come in on the same flight and he was in the set of sofas next to us. It was really odd to see him as a gangster on the screen and then see him in person.

I wondered if they had shown the movie in his honor. I didn’t notice whether it was featured in the flight magazine.

The last line in the TMZ story is: "Story Developing"...

...Really? The guy is dead! How is the story going to "develop"?

PS-

RIP Mr. Farina. You were a good actor and, apparently, a fine fellow.

A lot of the old cast and crew of ‘Crime Story’ are still around:

If you get a chance see this film. He was a Chicago cop for 18 years. I believe that "The Last Rites of Joe May" was his best work, but received little notice:

Also Mr. Farina is in a movie to be released this year:

Lucky Stiff (2013) Comedy | Musical

I'm sure he would be laughing about the irony of the movie title.

Farina was at some stage of filming a new movie and has one currently in post production. Liked his work hosting “Unsolved Mysteries.”

Found this on the IMDB boards;

“The Emmy nominated cast and crew of “New Girl” were dining at the Wolseley Restaurant in London today when a photographer told them about Farina’s death. After saying, “That’s awful,” Jake Johnson, who plays the character of Nick Miller, writer Luvh Rakhe added “I warned him,” but refused to elaborate.”

Farina was in a couple of episodes of that show.

Law and Order had some great detectives, Dennis was one of the top two, IMHO (Lenny #1)

And a great head of hair.

The most disappointing thing about the premature termination of the HBO series “Luck” was not getting to see where his character (Gus Demetriou) was going. He was a commanding actor. RIP

And a great head of hair.

Far and away the best dressed.

I'll have to admit,, when I first saw him I didn't like him. But he grew on me and in the last several years was one of my favorites.
RIP

I’ve seen that CS intro a million times. Love it! Thief was a GREAT movie; you know they were both Michael Mann projects, as was Miami Vice.

Also, my daily drive is the same car Caan uses in thief — he has an 81 Eldorado, I have an 83.

RIP. Good actor. His previous real-life experience made him a good cop actor.
