They did it again.
For the third time in just over a week, a man was lured to the 600 block of Tyrella Avenue believing he would have sex with a woman he met online on top of a bed covered in money. Unfortunately for this man -- and the two others who were duped before him -- instead of taking a roll through cold hard cash, he was rolled for his cash.
In the most recent case, a 47-year-old man came to meet his "date" in front of an apartment complex at 660 Tyrella Ave around 11 p.m. on June 5, according to Sgt. Dan Vicencio, public information officer with the Mountain View Police Department. He had $1,500 with him, because, as he later told police, the woman -- or the person posing as a woman -- had requested he bring it, saying it was her fantasy to make the beast with two backs on a bed full of Benjamins.
Just like the 22-year-old San Jose man on May 28 and the 30-year-old Sunnyvale man on May 29, the 47-year-old was robbed by two men -- one carrying a gun, the other carrying a knife. The robbers took the man's $1,500 and fled south toward Evandale Avenue.
"I think they're pretty brazen and obviously pretty comfortable with this location," Vicencio said of the robbers.
When asked why the police have yet to catch the men, he said that police can't patrol the 600 block of Tyrella Avenue 24 hours a day. "We're working on it actively," he said.
The victim, as with the previous incidents, was not harmed.

Yeah I don’t think it’s called a date when it involves cash. I believe it’s called prostitution, and the guy absolutely did get screwed!
There's a real fairy tale!
maybe it’s Ben Bernanke.
Ummmm, not in the way he was hoping for!
“Yeah I dont think its called a date when it involves cash.”
Well, here in L.A., it does.

Yeah, it’s not like they could spend a few ^^minutes^^ on-line (like the victim) around, say lunchtime, and arrange for the liaison (just like like the victim did) and then arrest the thugs when they show up.
I’m betting the ossifer could show up in PD-blues and still get a collar. Goodgawd what lazy wankers these LEOs are!
Weiner turned 48 last year and lives on the opposite coast. Otherwise, the victim sounds just as pathetic, desperate, and gullible as a future mayor.
His intention was not to pay her the money, it was to spread on the bed while they were being friendly.
Except that Weiner is afraid to actually be in the room with a woman.
Easy come, easy go.
asking you to bring lot of cash might be a red flag, no?
geez
