Apparently, one of the local TV stations reported that Bea's Restaurant refused to serve President Obama when he was in Chattanooga today.
The owner says the president's people did call and ask him to provide some catered food. But the restaurant is closed on Tuesday's, so he turned them down.
Apparently, this has become a bit of a controversy, and they had people calling them racist on their Facebook page.
The owner tried to explain that the same thing happened back when George H.W. Bush was president and they weren't making any political statement either time. He just thought his employees worked hard the rest of the week and deserved their days of.
In today’s world, anyone “dissing” the president is a racist. That’s how it is.

They were closed. That would be enough for anyone who was sane to understand the difference. While I would applaud a guy who said “shove it” to Obie Won, this guy was not him.

To those who are accusing the restaurant of racism I would say that the real reason is that the restaurant is homophobic. They simply did not want to serve a notorious homosexual such as Obama.

Reminded me a year ago when a couple of homos were protesting In N Out Burger on a sunny Sunday here in Hollywood and one of the cars passed by and yelled “they’re closed on Sundays, fags!”
People need to visit this restaurant and tell him thank you for staying with your principles. You’re closed Tuesday, you’re closed no matter who is coming. Good for the owner!
I don’t care who is visiting, the owner has a right to leave the restaurant closed on it’s normal closing day.
