A general consensus question, "Why do you carry a gun?" Here are some sentiments from "Gun Owners": -We just want to be safe -Vigilance, not Paranoia -We Don’t Want to Shoot Anyone -It’s a Dangerous World

Non-Gun Owners views: -Gun People Think They’re Rambo! -You Have to be Paranoid to Carry a Gun -It’ll be the Wild West All Over Again! They’re Going to Shoot us All!

What do you all think? Read the article why carry gun here

Especially The Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch

A Reading from the Book of Armaments, Chapter 4, Verses 16 to 20:

Then did he raise on high the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch, saying, “Bless this, O Lord, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy.” And the people did rejoice and did feast upon the lambs and toads and tree-sloths and fruit-bats and orangutans and breakfast cereals ... Now did the Lord say, “First thou pullest the Holy Pin. Then thou must count to three. Three shall be the number of the counting and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither shalt thou count two, excepting that thou then proceedeth to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the number of the counting, be reached, then lobbest thou the Holy Hand Grenade in the direction of thine foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it.”

Because it is the ultimate civilized act.

Yes, it is. A firearm is the difference between a society wherein brute force rules and one wherein it doesn't. That is a change in the human condition so fundamental it shocks me that people can ignore it.

Now and then someone will bleat "Imagine a world without guns." And you can, it's easy. Ghengis Khan.

For the same reason I carry a tool bag wherever I go. Better to be prepared than prepped.

The better question is “why wouldn’t you carry a gun?”

We has that situation about 10 years ago here in the Wal-Mart parking lot, and this is a nice upscale suburb. And the robber had a gun.

The victim drew his own gun and shot the robber, wounding him badly in the neck. Threat stopped.

I talked to a cop about the incident later, and he said all the cops were giving the guy high-5s when he was down at the station giving his statement.

I have carried a hand gun for all but 25 years legally in the state of Pennsylvania. As soon as it became easier to obtain I applied. I have never had to use my hand gun but more than a few times I was glad I had it on hand. Like when my wife and I were walking from a parking garage to have dinner or when I was with my daughter out on a shopping spree at night, or when I confronted a burglar in our front yard. I practice often and I will not hesitate to use it when I am called to do so. As for why I carry, too protect myself, my hard earned possessions and the ones I love. Like I have taught my daughter (who carries) don’t be a victim.
