Roger Sperry won the Nobel Prize in 1981 for his work on what is now commonly known as right brain-left brain thinking. Sperry theorized that some very specific activities were controlled by one side of the human brain or the other for example, the right side controlled creative tasks, while the left side was where logic, language and reasoning lived.
People were fascinated by the idea, and in the three decades since, bookstores, television, the Internet and college psychology classes everywhere have been filled with endless discussions of the differences between right-brain, left-brain, and whole-brain thinkers.
(Ironically, Sperrys Nobel prize, like his theory, was also split: two Harvard doctors were also recognized that year in the same medicine and physiology category for their discoveries in visual system processing.)

She’s not black, she’s a Nubian Princess!
She spins to the left and that’s when my daydream begins.
I just notice the detail... she has nipples even
This thing drives me nuts. I’ve seen it before, and she only turns one way. I can no more make her change direction than I can change the direction of the wind.
If you look for more than a few seconds, say 10, stop looking for a few moments and try again.
You're obviously very dominate on a particular side of your brain if this test is accurate.
Really! I can’t get my eyes to move fast enough to sync up, so I can tell.
Look at the orientation of the pony tail. If it is not rigid then she is rotating clockwise because the ponytail is trailing. The ponytail is leading is she is rotating counterclockwise, so it would have to be rigid, as in a statue.
Yes! I NEVER joke about nipples...!
The ponytail is always trailing, and she is always facing in the direction of the turn. Not sure how they managed that.
No, the ponytail is always leading in the gif, not trailing! That’s the clue that it is a statue not a person actually turning.
I’m a right-brain thinker.
Forget the ponytail, which way is she looking, to her right shoulder or to left shoulder?
I showed the image to Mrs. Doomonyou and she said it was spinning left, and I saw it spinning right, as we were talking I spun my finger to the left and while I was looking at it, it changed direction for me and the Mrs.
Optical delusion!
I think I am too. It’s probably why I can’t spell and have poor grammers...
Wow, I think you may have discovered something new. Spinning my finger right or left in front of the image works for me too, sometimes. ;)
Catch her spinning left, then stare at the image for about 30 seconds. I do that and she changes direction to the right after 15-16 seconds.
and just to add a lil humor....given 20 minutes alone with her...I think I could get her to sit in my lap!
If you place the mouse-arrow over head and only look at that, you can make her swing from side to side.
Good idea using the mouse-arrow. Works best for me if I draw circles in the opposite direction of rotation, using her hips as the apex of the circle and her feet as the base.
