At least you have A standard. Some folks here will vote for any nutbag with an R behind his name.

Yes, Perry was wrong on Guardasil. Very minor issue. Get over it.

NWO connections? Care to explain?

(Wait. First let me get my tin-foil hat.)

Support of the Foreign Owned Trans-Texas Corridor....

CHECK!

Very minor issue?

That the government, without even the legislature, can FORCE every child to take an injection against parents wishes?

That is a "minor issue"?

Cintra-Zachry = New World Order?

Methinks you have your tinfoil wrapped a little to tightly arround the noggin.

TTC was a bad idea. But it went nowhere.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trans-Texas_Corridor

Cintra-Zachry, a partnership between Spanish-based toll-road developer/operator Cintra and Texas-based Zachry Construction, was awarded a $3.5 million contract to help plan the entire TTC-35 route in March 2005

According to TxDOT documents released in June 2002, “Governor Rick Perry wrote Transportation Commission Chairman John W. Johnson on January 30, 2002 to outline his vision for the Trans Texas Corridor. The governor asked the three-member commission to assemble the Texas Department of Transportation’s top talent to create and deliver a Trans Texas Corridor implementation plan in 90 days.”[2]

In spite of public complaints–and both the 2006 platforms of the Texas Republican[26] and Democratic[27] parties opposing the plan–Governor Rick Perry continued to support the TTC.

Perry can stuff it....

I think you know there was an opt-out clause.

Yes, this should never have been presented, but go ahead and make false claims that have been exposed.

Lee-Hamblin family tree: Nice mix of scoundrels and patriots as one might find from the common ancestor of Dick Cheney and BO.

I'd contend that Gordon Smith (despite a few RINO votes) from the same Lee-Hamblin tree was the last patriot to be elected to the U.S. Senate from what is now the People's Republic of Oregon. The Udalls, on the other hand, appear to be scum and villainy right out of the bar scene in Star Wars.

Yes the TTC was a very BAD NAFTA enabling idea...

That alone disqyualifies Perry, that and ordering people to take shots...

The same shots that have been banned recently in serveral developed countires due to inducing infertility issues...

Well, go ahead and thank God - if it makes you feel better - that Perry lost out early and we had REAL losers like Mitt to reperesent us.

You’re straining at gnats here. You’ve lost sight of the argument that while Perry has flaws - he’s a damn site better than 80% of other Repubs that have a shot.

Isn’t he a MORMON!!!! Does he lash his dog to the roof of the car to make room for his four wives and sixteen children? Isn’t he a flip flopper who hates black people? He can’t be any good—he comes from Utah after all.

Doubtful that Utah will ever have a serious Presidential contender. It just isn’t big enough to have that kind of political clout, regardless of the fact that it has a fair bunch of loonies who call it home.

...and that includes me!

After reading the comments I truly believe FreeRepublic has been infiltrated by liberals.
Are you going to let the media choose your candidates again? Hate Cruz, Mormans, Bachman, Palin, Paul, and Lee?
Anyone of them would have made a better president than Obama. Keep eating your own and see where that gets you.
I get it. Hate Cristie, McCain, Graham they deserve it but there is no candidate that will please everyone.
Free Republic used to be a great place for educational debate. Now it’s a hate fest.

Birthers can stomp their feet all they want, should Senator Cruz toss his hat into the ring, he will face no serious legal obsticals in regards to his eligibility.

How fast do you think the Liberal-Socialists will link his name with the Mountain Meadow Massacre—whether or not John D. Lee was an ancestor? I can just hear Elinor Clift—wasn’t she killed in the movie Independence Day—say, “Well, now I don’t want to give undue emphasis to something that happened a hundred-fifty years or so ago, but is he related to the John D. Lee who was executed for the Mountain Meadow Massacre?”

This whole thread was started as a sarcastic response to all the other threads I was on today defending Cruz.

What have we been praying for except someone like Mike Lee to arrive on the scene?

Politicians from every point on the political spectrum, including Democratic leaders Harry Reid and Barack Obama, have been proclaiming that ObamaCare is a train wreck waiting to happen. Yet only Mike Lee has had the courage to come forward and propose a bill to defund it so the train can be stopped before everyone is injured.

Mike Lee — a lonely, set-upon profile in courage who refuses to back down. Mike Lee for president.

I’ve noticed this crap for the past few election cycles. Newbies or hacks come to FR, post tripe to stir the pot, then pimp someone else.

At least he has management experience running a large and largely successful state.

However bad he is he is better than W., McCain, Jeb, Romney, Christie, Rubio, etc.

He has more experience running a real executive office than Cruz, Rand, etc.

I could stomach him is all I'm saying.
