I don’t really believe this video. Wouldn’t a dog as smart as a border collie know the difference between a statue and a real person? They have an insane sense of smell.

you think the video is faked??? pretty obviously not, as the people filming it thought it was hilarious, and it is. dogs generally have a terrific sense of smell. For Christmas, my husband bought me a statute of st joseph holding the baby Jesus to go in my garden, my dogs barked their heads off at the intruder on Christmas morning, took them forever to get used to it.

If you look really close you can see wires attached to the dog.

I don’t know how they would fake it, but I know that my Golden Retrievers would never try to interact with a statue. Maybe Goldens are smarter than Border Collies after all! LOL.

It’s a cute video, but I still think BCs are too smart to be fooled.

coloring of the dog is diff ; ) i feel like the dog is going to have a nervous breakdown watching all that non-stop movement. kind of how i felt when chaperoning school field trips when my kids were little!

You didn’t tie them together with a long piece of rope...

I don’t really believe this video. Same here. I can't believe the dog was that dumb. Esp with his 'master' filming.

hahaha, i have seen that done! i recall chaperoning 2d graders at the Museum of Natural History [we live in NoVA] and the style of chaperoning by dads was so different from us moms. Dads would walk alongand expound on the exhibits to the kids in their charge, while moms were frantically counting heads, and making sure no one escaped the radar, and paying zero attention to the exhibits!

I first saw it in NYC..about 20 years ago..in Brooklyn..call of maybe first or second graders..crossing the street with their teachers..all tied together in a long chain..

here they they are slightly more civilized and don’t actually tie them, they have them walk along holding the rope at various knotted points. i am sooooo glad to be past that stage, mine are 19, 21 and 24. my patience is long gone, i won’t be volunteering to chaperone any future granchildren unless i’m permitted to use a taser ; )

My late JRT would occasionally try to chase garden gnomes. She’d be very disgusted when they didn’t run.
