(Newser) – Missing from this year's Miss Universe pageant: regular co-host Andy Cohen. The competition is being held in Russia on Nov. 9, and the country's anti-gay laws "make it unsafe for the gays who live there and gays coming to work or visit," Cohen tells E!'s Giuliana Rancic (who has co-hosted with him the past two years). He adds that he "didn't feel right as a gay man stepping foot into Russia," considering "the law is that anyone under suspicion of homosexuality can be arrested." A Change.org petition with nearly 24,000 supporters so far is asking the Miss Universe organization to hold the pageant elsewhere.
Enjoy.
ISGAS.
I Scarcely Give A S....
Gay men in a or near a female beauty contest just makes no sense. Unless it is to further screw up the world’s ideas of ‘beauty. AKA making women look like adolescent boys.
When in Rome . . .
If the purpose of the law was to discourage deviants, then it seems to be working.
what is Miss Universe pageant ?
BAsically, he’s saying he has so little willpower or control, he couldn’t help himself and would have to commit homosexual sodomy while visiting for a few days in Russia.
Sounds like he has a problem with self-control.
Ok I’ll give you the hair stylists ;)
No raally, you can have them!
Mazel.
Oh come on Andy, be brave and GO!
Maybe if the homos weren’t so in-your-face about flaunting their deviancy, it wouldn’t be an issue.
Which reminds me; why do some guys start acting the part after they come out? It’s almost like they go to a “ghey” finishing school to learn how to lisp and mince, whereas previously they talked and walked like everyone else.
i like Andy Cohen... and he does seem to appreciate physically attractive/beautiful women... women with hot bodies... women considered MILFs and all...
That shocks me. But I’ll take your word for it. A gay man appreciating beautiful women instead of going instant catcight/snide is a rare thing indeed.
I’m sure Russia is crying about Andy’s refusal to participate.
Here’s a wild idea: how about a Miss Universe contest with a STRAIGHT host/co-host?
Revolutionary!
so far I have seen nothing but positive results from those laws.
Don’t hear ginsberg talking about looking to foreign law to protect the society of the USA from deviants in this situation. She must still be looking to enable dangerous deviants.
