The race card is the only thing the racialists have left.
Race was certainly involved. If a white parent had done as terrible a job of raising a child as Trayvon’s parents did, the police would have locked him up much earlier. If a white boy had been caught in as many misdeeds as Trayvon, the school system would have stepped in to teach him that actions have consequences.
As for racism against Trayvon (if you don’t count the above real instances of racism that actually harmed Trayvon), I’m more than a little skeptical. I doubt that GZ’s last thought before pulling the trigger was, “my nose is broken, the next blow might knock me out cold, and this kid just threatened to kill me, I’d let all that pas if he was a white Hispanic like me, but since he’s a black kid with Skittles I’m going to shoot him.” I’ve been assaulted by thugs, and that wasn’t how my mind operated under pressure. Oprah is, as usual, wrong.

I think if Zimmerman had been attacked by a white teenager, he’d have done the same thing.
