I would love to show that in my office but I’m sure it would lead to HR complaints.

I started a new job i January, working with a number of 20-something engineers. All I can do is shake my head.

I just want to go on record as saying, as a 33 year old man, I am NOT a Millennial! I am tired of being bunched into the bin of hipster idiots who insist on wearing Converse and hoodies to work. My company has a very relaxed dress code, and I take crap for wearing slacks and an pressed button-up, collared shirt every day, but dammit, I believe in the old adage, “You dress for the job you want, not the job you have.”

And the whole “self-esteem” garbage these kids expect is mind-numbing. The required stroking of egos is such that I vomit a little when I have to do it.

So please, don’t lump us all into the same group of maladjusted wells of self-doubt and self-loathing. Some of us actually work our asses off to get and stay ahead.

I like the ones who walk into work while talking on their cell phones, and never put them down all day.

Also, I just got a e mail from a ‘supervisor’ saying he'd be ‘cooped up’ in his office all day working on a deadline. Read: ‘Don't call me or knock on my door today.’ He takes off early and works his OWN schedule at will and it caught up with him, I guess.

I don't get it. I thought work WAS dealing with what needs done ... all day/every day and WHEN it needs done.

That's why it's called work, instead of fishing.

I think 32 and up are considered, “Generation X” not millenials.

The borough just up the road from where I sit was recently named in our local paper as “the place where hipsters go to have kids”.

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

I was born so long ago that I precede the entire baby boom!

When I was born, Truman was President.
And it sounds like you pre-date me.

Had an old guy role into my Recovery Room after Surgery, wide awake. Someone asked how old he was. He said he was the bus boy at the LAST SUPPER. We all were rolling on the floor. Good thing all the patients were doing well.
