DID Brandy play to a stadium of 89,960 empty seats?
That's what the Twitterverse is saying after reports the singer performed to just 40 people in a 90,000 capacity arena at the Mandela Sports and Culture Day in South Africa on Saturday.
The American R&B star was the surprise guest at the FNB stadium in Soweto - the only problem was that no-one knew she was playing.
Tens of thousands of people had therefore left the arena before she arrived on stage.
"Brandy [just] performed to an empty stadium. With the stadium lights on," tweeted South African musician, Kabomo.
"People didn't know there was a concert after the games. No one knew Brandy was around. Maybe a 40 people audience ... She sulked after two songs and walked off.

She was on Dancing with the Stars when Bristol Palin was. She came in 4th after Bristol and was really ugly about it.

If the concert had been promoted more widely, the crowd would have swelled to at least 50.
What would happen if a South African performer no one had heard of here played after a Bengals-Steelers game and for which there had been zero advertising? You've already sold out the stadium for football fans, many of whom want to get out of town for a four hour drive and they aren't going to stick around. Even if she had fans here, they probably wouldn't have been able to buy tickets to the football game and sat through it just to see her.
I was once scheduled to teach a seminar for 100+ people.
Two showed up. So we sat down at a table and turned the seminar into a discussion about their particular issues. Went very well and I think the two who actually showed up got their money’s worth and then some.
