Michael Reagan Responds to the Movie The Butler and How it Falsely Portrayed His Father
Worldview Weekend ^ | 22Aug13 | Brannon Howse

Posted on 08/23/2013 4:16:18 PM PDT by ReformationFan

Brannon Howse is host of the daily, live, national radio program “Worldview Weekend Radio” which airs on 50 stations live each day at 1pm CT. The program can also be heard at www.worldviewradio.com. Brannon has been a friend of Mike Reagan’s for almost twenty years. Brannon served as Mike’s education reporter for many years and served as his literary agent for his best-selling book, “Twice Adopted.” Brannon was also the executive producer of a television production that featured Mike speaking about his life story and testimony in front of 2,000 people at one of Brannon's Worldview Weekend conferences. Mike was very gracious in giving Brannon and his radio audience the first interview on his response to the movie The Butler and how it portrayed his father, President Ronald Reagan. Here is a transcript of a portion of this interview. The complete interview can be heard by members of the Worldview Weekend Situation Room at www.situationroom.net

Yeah I think later on he realized his whole “Give peace a chance” stuff was a complete disaster, that pulling out of Vietnam resulted in 2 million Cambodians being slaughtered which I heard shocked the hell out of him. They said he was even embarrassed by his song “Imagine” later on. He was a smart guy but he was extremely naive about the world as are most libs. He pretty much grew up in a bubble except for that time he was a struggling musician in Hamburg for a few years, but after that he lived in a cocoon the rest of his life. They get this idea in their head and they think “Oh there would be Utopia if only this and this happens” and it has no basis in reality whatsoever. They think “All people are nice” and then POW reality hits. That’s what killed him in my opinion. I’m 51 and grew up in New York city and back then when I was 16-17 I would always make damn sure I had my switch-blade. Everyone I knew had a weapon because we damn well knew the psychos out there but he didn’t.

"I saw the movie. My description is accurate."

I don't doubt you at all. I was just thinking that their advertising campaign is complete b.s.

It is completely BS. I still don’t understand why they even mentioned Jane Fonda was even in the movie. Her line was “Ronnie and I would like to invite you and your wife to the state dinner.” He is stunned and she smiled and said, “We are serious.”

Agree with your entire statement except I think the ignorance level of the American voters is a much larger portion than one-half(sadly).

I don’t disagree with anything you said.. I am just saying that it came out, and I would have to surf to find it, but I am enjoying a cocktail so I won’t, that he admired Ronnie.

That’s all.

PS: I would be the guy in back of the VV to spit in that poodles face!

“Wow. FDR had hardly anytime and he was a 16 year term. “

FDR wasn’t even portrayed in the film. Are you sure you actually saw it?

Poor analogy. John was a confused soul and was giving himself to Jesus Christ towards the end of his short life. He was and is still loved by persons from all parts of the political spectrum.

A better analogy would be Rush as Bill Clinton or Linda Tripp as the Hildebeest.

> “For all its faults, South Africa was the richest nation in Africa at the time and was an ally of ours against the Soviets and the spread of communism. SA also maintained a strong alliance with Israel for many years.”

Mandela was ANC and ANC was communist. Reagan was 100% not-give-an-inch anti-communist. Reagan’s response was completely predictable.

Historically Whites had been in S. Africa longer than they had been in America. Attracted by the growing wealth of S. Africa, migrating blacks from other parts of Africa caused black on black violence. The response of whites was natural: separate states. But although these are facts any person espousing such facts is labeled a racist. The truth is a casualty in this.

I don’t think a switch blade would have saved him. But your point is well-taken, he should have had body guards as he certainly had the means to afford them.

Robin Williams plays President Eisenhower. You get an F for modern American History.

It would be hard to portray Reagen in a bad light. Beyond a doubt history will see him as one of the best American Presidents so far.

I didn’t believe it either until our current leader arrived. And he is the best liar and BS artiest that I have ever listened to. But his followers think he walks on water and will vote for him again.

Indeed. Is South Africa still the richest nation in Africa today? If so, it’s probably a remnant holdover from the earlier era. I have this funny feeling the ANC will squander all that’s left and it’ll be Zimbabwe II which hurts not only the whites but the blacks as well.

Capetown and Capetown province is still predominately white and the blacks that live there want other blacks outside the province to stay out.

Recently black press outside the Cape province have started to incite against remnants of ‘Apartheid’ in the province. Their motive seems to be to distract attention away from the problems in other parts of S. Africa and to focus press attention on dealing with racism in the Cape province. So far as I can tell it is not gaining traction.

Capetown is then what keeps S. Africa a step above Zimbabwe. Durban still bristles but it is run by blacks and whites who keep the ANC elements at bay because the port is profitable still.

ANC has hurt the country. The youth are disillusioned and discouraged. They see the ANC top leadership as a ring of cronies who have done nothing but taken wealth for themselves.

And to take the apartheid issue and turn it into a race issue, I mean some people just see through the eyeball of a race issue or racism.

Nelson Mandela was a dictator loving Communist stooge and his wife was a murdering witch.

Jane Fonda, still whoring for commies.

The director conveniently omitted Jimmy Carter from his film as well.
