Siege Mentality: Experts Pan IPCC’s Climate Report Strategy
Der Spiegel ^ | August 23, 2013 – 04:24 PM | Axel Bojanowski

The climate report published by the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) every two years is supposed to be secret. But once again, another draft of the document, which summarizes the state of climate research, has been leaked to the media, and experts are beginning to question the organization’s information strategy.

The content of the leaks is not the issue. Most of the data had already been published before from a previous draft, and authors have confirmed with Spiegel Online details of the latest draft reported by major publications in recent days. But the leak is contributing to a sense that the IPCC is manipulating coverage.

Cue Claude Raines. I certainly am shocked that IPCC would be manipulating media.

Literally billions of dollars have been spent on this “scientific boondoggle already. The reputations of thousands of politicians and their minions who want to redistribute your hard earned dollars are now at stake... you can be sure that this monster is going to be having agonal respirations for decades. We are going to be at least 20 years into a severe cooling trend before there is a reversal in strategy. It will still be blamed on human activities... probably still hydrocarbon based energy sources.

It’s all about “redistributing” American tax dollars to third world pisspots.
Everybody understands this fully. The “global warming” / “climate change” scam didn’t work.

So somebody tell the socialist UN and Democrat scum to go to Plan B already. This is really old.

(yawn)

Climate is losing steam.

Next stop for the leftist juggernaut: Sustainability.

Another of the many code words for wealth redistribution.

Secret science?

That word has been around for a while too. The UN again, of course, during the Brundtland Commission.

Yes, Sustainability has been around for a while, but it hasn’t caught on. Perhaps they will have to find a new name for it. But the idea will persist because on the surface the idea is touted as making sure that the next generation does not have diminished resources.

Under the surface, however, it becomes an attempt to achieve the socialist’s dream: everybody has exactly the same things, no more and no less. The impossible dream. (Except of course for the socialist elites who clearly need to stay in the best hotels and eat the best food and fly in the fastest airplanes and have chauffeur driven limousines. And live in the nicest neighborhoods and send their kids to elite schools.)

Well, looking over the other side of the Atlantic, “sustainability” and its extended version “sustainable development” has been part of the European Union since its inception. The word is all over the Treaty of Lisbon:
DETERMINED to promote economic and social progress for their peoples, taking into account the principle of sustainable development and within the context of the accomplishment of the internal market and of reinforced cohesion and environmental protection, and to implement policies ensuring that advances in economic integration are accompanied by parallel progress in other fields …
— Preamble, tenth paragraph; Treaty on European Union section.

The Union shall establish an internal market. It shall work for the sustainable development of Europe based on balanced economic growth and price stability, a highly competitive social market economy, aiming at full employment and social progress, and a high level of protection and improvement of the quality of the environment. It shall promote scientific and technological advance.
— Article 3, section 3, paragraph 1

In its relations with the wider world, the Union shall uphold and promote its values and interests and contribute to the protection of its citizens. It shall contribute to peace, security, the sustainable development of the Earth, solidarity and mutual respect among peoples, free and fair trade, eradication of poverty and the protection of human rights, in particular the rights of the child, as well as to the strict observance and the development of international law, including respect for the principles of the United Nations Charter.
— Article 3 section 5

(The Union shall) foster the sustainable economic, social and environmental development of developing countries, with the primary aim of eradicating poverty …
— Article 21, section 2, subsection D—take note the intent to interfere in “developing countries”, which is imperialism

… help develop international measures to preserve and improve the quality of the environment and the sustainable management of global natural resources, in order to ensure sustainable development
— Article 21, section 2, subsection F—more imperialism

Environmental protection requirements must be integrated into the definition and implementation of the Union policies and activities, in particular with a view to promoting sustainable development.
— Article 11 of the Treaty of the Functioning of the European Union.
Very easy to get sucked into this by treaty, that is if you are not watching what your politicians are doing. Definitely a global agenda.

with the primary aim of eradicating poverty

It sounds so nice, but the devil is in the details. Who determines what poverty is? Who determines whether someone is worthy of receiving aid? What about someone who has been financially irresponsible over and over again. Is a thrifty person supposed to be punished so that a wasteful person can be provided with more goods? Is a hard working person supposed to support a lazy person?

This plan of eliminating poverty by government handouts is a terribly flawed idea, and it compels people to seek the lowest common denominator. It discourages creativity and risk-taking, which are the very elements which improve society.

But they sell it to the public by laying a guilt trip on them. They show people living in poverty and imply that if we just pay more taxes, that poverty can be eliminated. It's a false dream and it leads to the destruction of society.
