Outrage as toy company creates 'crystal meth lab' for children with Breaking Bad play sets
• 500-part set has all the drugs paraphernalia used in hit American series
• Lego refused to sanction or endorse the toy, which was made by independent company Citizen Brick
• Twitter users blasted £160 toy as an inappropriate plaything
Children can now build their own drug dens with a shocking new play kit inspired by TV show Breaking Bad.
The sell-out £160 kit, branded 'SuperLab', lets any child or adult recreate Walter White's notorious crystal meth lab.
Complete with protective masks, drug paraphernalia, figurines and a version of the car from the show, infants can even reenact scenes from the series.
The toy looks similar to a classic Lego set, although it is not connected to the Danish company in any way and was made by a separate firm.
Outraged commentators took to Twitter to speak out against the bizarre toy.
Jeff Myers tweeted: 'Made for children raised by parents who should know better.'
Jacques Gonzales added: 'Definitely not for kiddies!'
The drama, in its fifth and final series, follows chemistry teacher Walter White on his journey to raise money for his family's future when he is diagnosed with lung cancer.
The schemer from Albuquerque, played by Bryan Cranston, enlists the help of a former pupil Jesse Pinkman, played by Aaron Paul.

I think it’s hilarious. It’s a goof for adult fans of the show who have a fond memory of their old Lego sets.
Those are awesome. Both the RV and the super lab, might have to get those. People need to get over the idea that toys are just for kids, especially stuff that ties in to something. Since McFarlane reinvented the tie-in toy industry mostly they’re for adults now.

Some shows are not at all meant for children, or even most adults because of there strong negative influence. Dexter come to mind for the same reasons. I always thought it unhealthy for a civilized society to try and mainstream all behaviors, like heroin addiction and serial murders, for two examples. These are the real Blurred Lines to be worried about.
I’m pretty sure, despite this using legos, the “playset” is not intended for children. They wouldn’t even know what “Breaking Bad” is, and it isn’t available in the toy section, so where would they get their hands on it?
Conservatives freaking out over non-issues like this just make us look like kneejerk reactionaries.

True, but I don’t think that it is “mainstreaming” if artists refer to negative aspects of society. Part of their job is social commentary to highlight exactly those types of things. When that commentary turns to glorification, that is when the line is crossed.
I don’t think BB has crossed that line, because it depicts all the horrible consequences of this lifestyle in some detail.
I too doubt this is being peddled to kids, but you know what???
