Putin Makes a Grand Offer to Help Obama? Has Anyone Figured This Out?
9/10/2013 | Nikos1121

Posted on 09/10/2013 3:06:04 AM PDT by nikos1121

I’ve been thinking about this all night...It doesn’t make sense to me. Does anyone else feel the same way I do?

Putin is very very quick, almost too quick, to offer the INternational control of weapons IMMEDIATELY after Kerry’s faux Paux. Why?

I don't think in the least that he fears Obama, or even respects the man as his equal. So why would he make an offer that on the surface will ultimately make Obama look good esp in the eyes of the media, and make him looks like he caved to Obama's threats?

Anyone over the age of 40 kows that the Russians are and always will be liars. They will promise anything to get what they want.

I say this whole thing is set up to expose Obama for the phony he is in this matter. It is not an offer made by a man who fears Obama. To the contrary, I believe that it's an empty offer that intends to ultimately embarrass Obama in the media even more so than he has been.

Think about this. The administration at first says Kerry's comments were rhetorical, giving us the idea that Kerry messed up, but then pundits spin this to sound like Obama got the Russians to do this, and now Obama is taking credit for it. Hillary steps in too.

Makes no sense. Sounds to me like a sly move by Putin that in the end will undermine Obama even more.

I can't help but think that Putin is toying with us, and Obama and company are falling right into it. Why would the Russians be afraid of Obama esp when he says this is going to be an extremely small bombing.

So why did he offer this?

Let’s think this through. WHy would Putin make this offer, unless his intelligence has made it very clear that Obama is using the chemical weapons as a pretense to rally support to bomb Syria and support the MB fight against Syria.

I think that PUtin knows it's got nothing to do with chemical weapons, and to prove it he immediately offers to take that issue off the table.

Now the ball is back in Obama’s court and the MSM can applaud him as there should no longer be an issue for war. The media already are saying Obama is the smartest guy in the room. He got the Russians to cave without firing a shot. Game should be over, right?

WRONG. The Saudi’s, Obama etc want regime change in Syria. It’s not about dying babies and chemical weapons. It’s about regime change and supporting the MB. Same game as in Libya and Egypt.

Boy, I would think Obama is fuming about this. NOw he's called out by the Russians and there's again no where to hide for him. If the Russians and Syrians say we're removing the weapons, the whole matter should be over.

So the Russians figure Obama will back off on his threat to bomb. What will the Russians do? They can spin this all they want for as long as they want. I predict that they will take their fine time on this. Weeks, months maybe a year. Hahahaha.

Why do I picture Putin over there with this big grin on his face. He's thinking, I'll not only beat Obama on any battle field because I know that man is a coward, but I'll beat him in the social media as well.

Does anyone actually believe that Assad will destroy his chemical weapons? Who will watch over the weapons? Hey, I got an idea, how about the Russians? Maybe they'll offer to do so in fact, I'm sure that's all part of it.

And just a thought. What if after some international scrutiny it turns out the chemical weapons came from Iraq, from Saddam? Then what? Don't think Kerry and company would like that information to get out now would they.

BOTTOM LINE NOW IS THAT THE CONGRESS AND AMERICAN PEOPLE CANNOT BE DUPED INTO VOTING FOR BOMBING UNDER ANY CONTINGENCY. IN OTHER WORDS THIS SHOULD NOT CHANGE THE VOTE. BOEHNER SHOULD NOW CALL A VOTE ON THIS. WE NEED TO GIVE OBAMA A CLEAR "NO" ON HAVING ANY MANDATE TO BOMB SYRIA.

I'm asking for Freepers to give me their take on this. I'm saying Putin has pulled a remarkable gambit move here. I say he'll promise anything to put Obama on the spot to back off his threats, in turn exposing Obama. Putin knows the media now will run with this.

Like I said, no one with any intelligence actually believes that Obama wants to bomb Syria because of the chemical weapons. Bob Menedez, Kerry and all the other simpletons can say all they want about dying babies. I say bull.

This whole thing is predicated on the clear assumption that Assad unleashed the weapons. Where is the proof? If he did then why would he offer to destroy them or to even render them unusable. Show the American public the proof.

The whole thing on the surface makes no sense unless you start by realizing this is about Obama's long term covert support for the MB and to do what the Saudi's want him to do.

Hey Henry Kessinger, Charles Krauthammer anyone! What the heck is going on here? Please tell us.

For all intents and purposes, Russia treats Syria as the Soviet Union would have treated a member of the Warsaw Pact.

threats from Russia against Europe

And this is a case in point. Remember when he bombed Georgia? He wanted no reprisal for it and threatened to cut off heat to anyone who didn't like it.

On the front page...above the fold....today's USA Today Newspaper....

Putin playing the US like a fiddle...

Saw it on a news stand but can't recall the politician who made the original quip....

Methinks the editor of USA Today is going to get a "visit."

Russia's natural gas threat is a double-edged sword

"Gas provides a tempting form of leverage, and Russia had already used it against Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania and Moldova. But when Gazprom, the Russian state gas monopoly, followed Putin's instructions to turn off the spigot to Ukraine, Russia crossed a new threshold."

My take on it is:

It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man. It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in princes. (Psalm 118:8-9)

and Psalm 2:

Why are the nations in a uproar, and the peoples devising a vain thing? The kings of the earth take their stand, and the rulers take counsel together against the LORD and against His Anointed: “Let us tear their fetters apart, and cast away their cords from us!”

He who sits in the heavens laughs, The Lord scoffs at them. Then He will speak to them in His anger and terrify them in His fury: “But as for Me, I have installed My King upon Zion, My holy mountain.”

“I will surely tell of the decree of the LORD: He said to Me, ‘Thou art My Son, today I have begotten Thee. Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Thine inheritance, and the very ends of the earth as Thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron, Thou shalt shatter the like earthenware.’”

Now therefore, O kings, show discernment; take warning, O judges of the earth. Worship the LORD with reverence, and rejoice with trembling. Do homage to the Son, lest He become angry, and you perish in the way, for His wrath may soon be kindled.

How blessed are all who take refuge in Him!

This isn’t a done deal as you know....they are forgetting the Muslim Brotherhood, Jihadists, and Rebels....all who fight to keep the International Community engaged UNTIL they “do something”.

And where is Israel now in this? With threats coming from the rebels they will gas them. One thing all the International Leaders fail to do is hear what the terrorists say...they generally follow up on what they say they are going to do.

If Israel is attacked from any thing coming from Syria....Damascus will be leveled by someone.

(Kerry thought of nothing. It was Russia’s idea).

Kerry did however spill the beans before the administration was prepared for it. They knew prior Putin,Syria, and Iran were meeting, and this with a specific plan they announced would be presented Monday.

I knew of this Sunday....posted it as well...from Israel’s press and Russian News had it as well. Our media of course had nothing on it.

We even discussed that if Obama accepted it would be presented by the Administration as his doing and he’d come out smelling like a rose.

All in all it could very well had been a planned deal and released for political theater.....using this continues to stall all the accusations against Obama and any discussion on upcoming Obamacare. Regardless of oil and the situations presented here.....we are still not dealing with our issues on the fast track now.....and that’s exactly what Obama wants...

He won't go for it since it was never about chemical weapons anyway. May as well hunker down for WW3 at this point.

Putin is threatening to bomb Saudi Arabia if we bomb Syria. DUMBSHIPS in charge in this country are going to blunder this and make us go to war. I am starting to just accept it and try to prepare for it instead of hoping for a better outcome.

I do like it, I must admit, that Putin is calling our bluff. Good for him.

...”Understand the Ottoman Empire and its enemies, and you will understand much”...

Yes, and that is why ‘Turkey’ and the Muslim Brotherhood...who have more than a passion to return to the Empire...comes into the playing field and why they’re supporting those who want Assad to fall.

The oil issues etc. are simply the elements in play....the desire as always is power.

You cannot eliminate the religious aspect......these are ‘still’ “Tribal Leaders” wearing suites and operating on the World Stage as diplomats for their country. The worl leaders may not look at this as religious but you can bank on it the Muslims do in every respect.

Take a look at the interim leaders various Governments have ready to assume control of Syria...they either are very much in the court of Islamic Shariah law.. as the political measure for Syria...or they favor it and supporting others who do. The oil issue is what will keep whoever retains power in the position of power.

look from last fall

"Huge gas resource discoveries in Israel, in Qatar and in Syria combined with the emergence of the EU as the world's potentially largest natural gas consumer, combine to create the seeds of the present geopolitical clash over the Assad regime."

If Putin moves his troops into Syria he’s then at the Border lines of Israel....(North).

Rosenberg had an interesting study listing the names of the towns which would be affected when Damascus eventually gets flattened. The effects from whatever destroys it will affect Northern Israel as well. Not destroy but affect...

I think whatever happens to Damascus when the time comes.....will set in motion where the “Glory of Israel begins to fade”.....Northern Israel may well go down steadily.

..”In every instance Obama is siding with the MB”...

Th Globalist plan is to use the MBS with the false assumption they can control them as heads of nations.

Should the Caliphat come into place...it would include the oil reserves throughout the Middle East....can you imagine the power they could hold over other nations? The control?

It’s no accident Russia plays cards easily with ME....they are his tools....in the end he looses big. In the end it will be all about Israel and the Muslims.....every other player will be secondary to the events.

Well Syria is Russia’s friend. Putin saw Kerry’s gaffe as an opportunity to prevent an attack on Syria.

I'm not so sure of that but you may be correct. The reason I say this is because a day or so before that I wondered why Russia had not yet come out with such a counter.

I think it's possible that Russia had this idea up their sleeve for some time during the whole crisis and I don't think it was shared with Obama during the meetings in Europe.

If such a thing had crossed my mind then surely it had crossed the minds of Putin and other world leaders (except Obama who was blinded by his desire to give radical islam another country).

Really good responses you should read them all. I think the consenses is that Putin is all in. It’s life and death for him and Obama knows it. I think Putin knows the man is a coward.
