Pope Francis Bows To Refrigerator, Houseplant

VATICAN CITY–As head of state at the Vatican, as well as leader of the world’s 1.2 billion Catholics, Pope Frances broke protocol yet again this morning when he bowed to his houseplant moments before watering it.

Francis, who has made ignoring protocol and tradition a trademark of his papacy, went on to bow to his refrigerator moments before extending his hand to open it.

“This man is absolutely fascinating,” the Pope’s photographer, Roberto Salamanca, told the Italian newspaper L’Osservatore Romano earlier this afternoon. “The man breaks many, how you say, protocollo. All day today I spent photographing him, and you know how long it took him to make a cheese sandwich? 45 minutes. He bows to the refrigerator before opening it, then bows to a loaf of bread before removing it from the refrigerator. Each slice he takes out, he bows…to the toaster, bows, takes out a slice of cheese, bows. I’ve never seen such humility.”

At press time, Pope Francis is stuck in a catch-22 as he considers whether bowing to the mirror before brushing his teeth, and consequently bowing to his own papal reflection, would contradict his show of humility.

It looks like BXVI loaded up the guest houses with some serious German appliances. Is that a Gaggenau fridge?

“Humility”?? Let Joe Schmo bow to a refrigerator and toast and he’s a nut-job. Put a pair of red shoes on him and it becomes “humility”

I have to bow as I bend to our pull out under freezer too. It’s the only core workout I get as I bend to reach for the ice cream.

it’s the fact that I could read this and actually see it happening that makes it believable. After all, there are all kinds of weird beliefs hidden behind those walls..;)

Yes but more serious ones. He said in May that atheists and those that don’t believe in the Lord will be in heaven, if they are “good”. Because Jesus redeemed all of us.

While it is true Jesus died for all people, that doesn’t mean simply if you “do good” you’re going to heaven. Nobody can earn heaven by “doing good”. Personal good works have never gotten anyone into heaven. Christian or non-Christian. It’s believing in Jesus Christ’s atoning sacrificial death for your sins, knowing you need Him to pay your sin debt because if you pay it, you’re paying it for an eternity apart from God.

He just perverted the gospel and preached a false gospel.
