FULL TITLE: REVEALED: Gunman, 34, who murdered TWELVE and injured 15 in Washington Navy Yard rampage was decorated petty officer who left military in 2011 after previous gun charge

While the motive of Aaron Alexis, the heavily armed gunman who shot dead at least 12 people in cold blood this morning at the Washington Navy Yard has not been revealed, speculation is growing his dismissal from the U.S. Navy for 'misconduct' in January 2011 may have inspired him to commit a deadly revenge.

Alexis, 34, has been revealed to have a prior arrest for letting a gun off that could have harmed his neighbor while he cleaned his own weapon at home in Fort Worth, Texas, 2010.

Despite the lack of acknowledged motive, one U.S. official has been quoted as saying Alexis was kicked out of the Navy in 2011 for 'misconduct' as a direct result of his gun arrest three years ago.

Law enforcement said that Alexis' identity was confirmed by fingerprints and that he served in the U.S. Navy between May 5th, 2007 and January 31st, 2011, the date he was dismissed from the service.

He was awarded the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal prior to his discharge in January 2011.

A U.S. Navy spokesman said that Alexis was an 'aviation electrician's mate' - ranked as a third class petty officer and served at the Naval Air Station in Fort Worth, Texas.

He is reported to have enlisted in New York and the Brooklyn native graduated from boot camp at Great Lakes, Illinois as an Airman Recruit.

While the American press sits back and waits for the White House to issue its talking points, the British press conducts some investigative journalism.

My son's a "glow worm". NNPTC is in Goose Creek, SC.

Back in the 1980's They had a training facility {Prototype} in Idaho. My former next door neighbor till we both enlisted was eventually stationed there as an instructor for several years in the mid to possible late 1980's. Yea it sounds weird I know. I think there was another school in New York state but I can't remember the town off the top of my head. He went there also right after Basic.

Yes, especially since 2013-3 years = 2010, just as stated.

Here is more I found..

12 dead in shooting at D.C. Navy Yard, two suspects still at large

"Alexis was at some point a civilian contractor for the U.S. Navy in the information technology area, Navy Secretary Ray Mabus said. "At one point, he was a Navy contractor. Whether he was today, I don't know," Mabus told CNN. Alexis had "secret" clearance and was assigned to start working there as a civilian contractor with a military-issued ID card, his firm's CEO told Reuters. Police described the two other possible suspects as a white man and a black man, each wearing military style clothing, although other law enforcement officials cautioned that it was still unclear whether more than one gunman was involved."

his father once told detectives in Seattle that his son had anger management problems related to post-traumatic stress brought on by the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. At the time of the shootings, he worked for The Experts, a subcontractor on an HP Enterprise Services contract to refresh equipment used on the Navy Marine Corps Intranet network.

Ian got out in May, and he’s back in school. He may go back as trainer after that if conditions improve. When he got out he said it was getting pretty bad, and morale was awful.

I call BS on this. This fellow sure spent a lot of supposed time on the East coast for a Texan. Did he ever deploy? Seems he spent his entire career around the beltway. Something is fishy.

The guys rating would be Squadron based wouldn't it? How could he get his PQS in to make rank? Even Squadron's eventually deploy. I know things have changed since our days but four years CONUS shore duty for a first enlistment sailor? That doesn't sound right. A RM, supply rating, or Air Traffic Control, yea maybe but their shore duty was usually overseas if first enlistment.

I don’t think Drudge getting it right hardly qualifies as a “change”, rather vague statement to make and does not sound very accurate to begin with in itself.

He'd be wise to wait about three years. One election can turn things around. It was bad when I was in under Carter but nothing near this extent. Even Cater's SEC Navy wised up toward the end somewhat. But what's being allowed today is going to collapse the armed forces.

There's an old saying If you want men to act like sailors then treat them as such. The expected conduct and standards of my time in were high. Yet they would get you Court Martialed today over Political Correctness Issues. Our hazing {iniation into engineering} would likely get you hard time now. But sleeping with another guy will get nothing? We had the CAUGHT gays off the ship within hours or in the Brig for their own safety until fly off could be arranged. No branch of the armed forces can operate under the new regulations.

I’ll prayerfully remember the victims and their families.

About this story, it will be either an empty chapter of a malcontent or disturbed individual

or some connection will be found to Jihad.

Just a few months ago a reporter said “a group of Battleships” and I have no knowledge of the Navy other than a brother and friend that served- but I knew we have no Battleships much less a group of them that travel together...though that would be a sight to see...

I believe he was in the Canadian Military, but you wouldn’t have known that from our media reports. Is this the one you were thinking of?
