A former military sniper has quit the U.S. army and moved to Britain where she lives as a woman with her lesbian lover.
Former-squaddie Charles Pontiero, 40, is saving up for sex-change surgery after settling down in Coventry, West Midlands, with girlfriend Maria.
After meeting student Maria, 29, online, Charles changed her name by deed poll to Alessia - and swapped a life in the army for a job as an actress.
The blonde claims that she's finally decided to make the change and live openly as a woman in the UK because it's easier to change sex in Britain than the U.S.
Alessia, who has married three times and has two teenage children, said: 'I always felt more like a girl than a boy, but I felt like I had to hide my female side when I was in the army.

One of my musician friends has decided he’s now a she. It’s not a pretty sight. But then, it wasn’t even before.

There’s a lot of symbolism there.
Correction: former sniper quits US Army and moves to Britain to live his life pretending he is something he is not, and never will be.
Even if he has the mutilation surgery and suppresses his bodies natural hormone balance with estrogen pills and so forth, he is still a man. Furthermore, he absolutely cannot experience life as a woman. From what I’ve read of the mutilation surgery, whatever the body feels like afterwards does not even remotely resemble what a woman experiences being a woman.
People like this need therapy, not medical mutilation; whoever came up with the idea that it’s good to feed their delusions by calling them by the opposite sex pronouns... well, that person should be shot.
The older they make the “transition” the uglier they are. Guess they don’t mind ugly.
Yabbut good luck trying to turn that ship around any time soon.
Why do they keep calling him a her?
Do they think they can change genetics just by referring to a man as a woman?
