Professor Stephen Hawking, the scientist, has given his backing to the legalization of assisted suicide for the terminally ill.

Prof. Hawking, 71, who has motor neuron disease, said, “We don't let animals suffer, so why humans?”

In an interview, he said he believed those who helped loved ones die should escape prosecution if they were suffering from a terminal illness and in pain. …

“But there must be safeguards that the person concerned genuinely wants to end their life, and they are not being pressurized into it or have it done without their knowledge and consent, as would have been the case with me,” he added, referring to an incident in 1985 when he was placed on a life support machine. …

Here we have a very simple contrast between those who believe in Biblical principles and those who don’t. Hawking is following his beliefs where they lead. I believe as the Bible affirms that humans were created in God’s image and animals were not. Jesus affirms it again when he says we are “worth more than many sparrows.”

As Biblically based values decline we see our nation devolve.

"We won't let animals suffer"

Leftists always say that humans are nothing more than animals and should never strive to be more than an animal. What kind of idiot weakens and devalues a species IN THE NAME OF SCIENCE? If destruction is the objective of science then why isn't Hitler considered to be a better scientist than Einstein?

A sane person would use science to elevate a species, make them more advanced and powerful. Alas we live in a world filled with lunatics and idiots. I often wonder why God doesn't just destroy us all. It's not like we're ever going to amount to anything.

Hawkings may be a mathematical genius, but when it comes to common sense and wisdom, you have nailed him - dumbass.

I can only conclude that hawking doesn't give a damn about his research. If he considered it worthwhile then even suffering would be worth it.

He only does physics because it comes easily to him....but he has the heart of a loser.

I have read the first two dozen posts on this thread, and find none I disagree with. Stephen Hawkings needs to get his $hit together and learn to live. It is not about physics or mathematics, it is about living. God created us to live.

Short of that, he needs to fine Dr K...or a loaded pistol...what, he doesn’t have the stomach to pull the trigger? Sad for him.
