What is your remedy?
If the people are too stupid to know what a bad thing Obamacare is once they are living it, what hope do we have?
Either the reality leads to repeal or we have lost the electorate to the moochers.
I have not given up hope yet. It seems many here have.
“Wall Street is not Main Street. Main Street votes.”
Main Street votes the way Wall Street tells them to.
They need to change the party symbol from an elephant to a jellyfish.
I am a hopeless optimist, but that does not mean I have lost my ability to see and observe.
As C.S. Lewis is reputed to have said, “Reality is a ruthless instructor. It does not care whether you agree with it or not.”
It is not that the electorate will not recognize Obamaocare for the dog it is, but they will ask for MORE collectivism to solve the problem. If reality leads to a repeal of gubmint interference in the marketplace for medical care, excellent. I do not see anything in the political culture that would lead me to believe this is imminent, or even possible. We simply have two competing factions of the Gimmedat Party deciding the future of the nation.
What do you see out there that gives you hope for the USA? Truly I am not trying to be argumentative, perhaps you are seeing things that I am not and I would like to know what it is.
They’re not stupid. People who vote for them are stupid. McCain is a great example. He shouldn’t have been elected the first time. He’s a traitor.
And by the way, I’m stupid. I voted for the bastard in 2008.
They are not stupid in that they don’t “get” it. They “get” it. They just don’t care, don’t think it affects them, are compromised or agree with it.
The White Flag Party.
I think there is still a majority of regular working people. They are largely apolitical and react to the MSM storylines. In general.
But they have enough residual common sense to reject the farthest flights of fancy, like belief in global warming hysteria.
They largely do not follow politics and thinkn of themselves as caring people. That’s why they vote Democrat. They believe it is the way to show they are compassionate.
But when they get sticker shock and doctor access problems, they will rouse and see who led them here.
The GOP will need a stragegy based on the market, true insurance and charity. It is possible that a govt screwup can nit be an automatic slam dunk for more govt.
Like i said, if things are as you say, then we have already lost. If you think we have lost, then going out with a suicude mission might make sense.
I dont believe all is lost.
Maybe im wrong. Maybe im right. Time will tell.
