"The Stupid Party" is Inadequate to Describe the GOPe

Yesterday in a mindless, myrmidon-focused speech Obamao threw down a gauntlet, knowing 1) the Senate Rebuttlikins would never pick it up, and 2) if there was a miraculous spinal transplant and they did, the LIV would still gravitate to the coolest bad-boys in town who promised better bread-and-circuses.

Obamao’s “Brier Rabbit” challenge was for the Rebuttlikins to get on board with the funding and enacting of Obamaocare since if it was so bad they (the GOP) could exploit its failure and reap the electoral harvest. I suppose some of the folks on "our side" are stoopid enough to fall for the feint (Hello, Senator McCain?), but any reasonable observer should recognize that WHEN Obamaocare fails, the Rats and the media (but I am being redundant) will blame the GOP for the failure because they were not being ardent enough supporters! Obamao knows that the Dem lapdogs in the Stalininst press (smack! Stop being redundant!) will never hold their collectivist masters responsible for anything. WHEN Obamaocare fails, it will be the GOP fault for being obstructionist troublemakers, not the Communists Party for being, well, communists. And the half-witted voters who comprise a majority of the electorate make a decision, it will be based on the template provided by the media.

As an aside, I cannot help but notice even though we have the highly touted “alternative media” flexing its muscle, the collectivists control the public discourse, or at least the political process, much more tightly than ever before. We might have bits and pieces of talk radio and the internet, but the Left controls every single institution of the culture. Every single one. It reminds me of Nicaragua and Cuba, where there is nearly universal literacy, but a 100% control of the available reading material.

Besides, extolling the clout of talk radio is no comfort inasmuch as their rise to prominence has been accompanied by a rise of the fascist state and an ever-diminishing menu of liberties.

Obamaocare will be a catastrophe and every thinking person knows this, including its sponsors. But, that’s the point. It will not be the GOP who harvests the electoral windfall of the coming medical sysgtem collapse, it will be the collectivists who will finally have their “crisis that must not be wasted.” They will then propose, and the electorate will clamor for, universal single payer gubmint-run health care for everybody, political elites excepted. Game, set, match.

The electorate wanted a transformed America, what they are getting is an America being transformed into Cuba. When will they see the truth? For many, never. For the rest, when the pain and carnage hits them in their own homes. I mean that literally. When they are wiped out financially, when they are assaulted by roving bands of murderous predators, when the ruling elites retreat behind a wall of hyper-armed security forces while the “little people” are on their own. Then they will see the truth of what they have voted for.

Am I the only one who sees this?

What is your remedy?

If the people are too stupid to know what a bad thing Obamacare is once they are living it, what hope do we have?

Either the reality leads to repeal or we have lost the electorate to the moochers.

I have not given up hope yet. It seems many here have.

“Wall Street is not Main Street. Main Street votes.”

Main Street votes the way Wall Street tells them to.

They need to change the party symbol from an elephant to a jellyfish.

I am a hopeless optimist, but that does not mean I have lost my ability to see and observe.

As C.S. Lewis is reputed to have said, “Reality is a ruthless instructor. It does not care whether you agree with it or not.”

It is not that the electorate will not recognize Obamaocare for the dog it is, but they will ask for MORE collectivism to solve the problem. If reality leads to a repeal of gubmint interference in the marketplace for medical care, excellent. I do not see anything in the political culture that would lead me to believe this is imminent, or even possible. We simply have two competing factions of the Gimmedat Party deciding the future of the nation.

What do you see out there that gives you hope for the USA? Truly I am not trying to be argumentative, perhaps you are seeing things that I am not and I would like to know what it is.

They’re not stupid. People who vote for them are stupid. McCain is a great example. He shouldn’t have been elected the first time. He’s a traitor.

And by the way, I’m stupid. I voted for the bastard in 2008.

They are not stupid in that they don’t “get” it. They “get” it. They just don’t care, don’t think it affects them, are compromised or agree with it.

I think there is still a majority of regular working people. They are largely apolitical and react to the MSM storylines. In general.

But they have enough residual common sense to reject the farthest flights of fancy, like belief in global warming hysteria.

They largely do not follow politics and thinkn of themselves as caring people. That’s why they vote Democrat. They believe it is the way to show they are compassionate.

But when they get sticker shock and doctor access problems, they will rouse and see who led them here.

The GOP will need a stragegy based on the market, true insurance and charity. It is possible that a govt screwup can nit be an automatic slam dunk for more govt.

Like i said, if things are as you say, then we have already lost. If you think we have lost, then going out with a suicude mission might make sense.

I dont believe all is lost.

Maybe im wrong. Maybe im right. Time will tell.
