Sen Majority Leader Harry Reid, at a press conference a short while ago, expanded on his comments that anything the House passes is DOA in the Senate, said that the House might just as well shut up, shut down, go home, and save the country the billions it costs to run it each year. "America would be far better off with a unicameral legislature, just the Senate," Reid said.
What a disgusting little twerp! I can’t believe Americans don’t care that the Senate leader is calling for a new system of government. He basically dissed the constitution right there in front of everyone.

I’d like to repeal the 17th amendment so the senators would be put back under the control of the states.
I doubt you could ever get the people to give up their vote for senator but maybe we could get rid of statewide popular votes for senator. Go with an electoral type of system within the states where the senator who wins most districts goes to Washington.
Cruz should suggest to McConnell that if he doesn't get out in front of the RINOs in attacking Dingy, Cruz WILL mop the floor with him.

I’d suggest that as a start, each State select one Senator in a popular Election and that the other be selected by and serve at the desecration of the State Legislature.

That stinking progressive 17th Amendment is the reason so many GOP held states are stuck with Democrat senators. The cities vote them in and the rest of us are screwed.
Could replace both by a system of proxy votes, with proxies being bought and sold on the open market.
That could even be a revenue source, with a tax on proxie payments.
That could and did happen anyways before the 17th Amendment. They were just elected by state politicians then, and state gerrymandering of state legislatures had greater effect.
