He was a fertilizer salesman from Yazoo City, MS and called on the office where my Mother worked. I worked there in the summers and he was always telling us stories. He was hilarious and everybody told him he needed to go into show business. He once said he quit selling one kind of fertilizer and started selling another.

I met him back in the 80’s when he came to do a benefit for the band to raise money to go to Austria. Got to talk to him for hours. He was the real deal. He lived in Old Main when he was at MS State. OM was the largest dorm before it burned and held 1500 young men. They used the bricks to build the Chapel of Memories at MSU. There is no one like him today.
