‘Duck Dynasty’ Star: Show Adding ‘Fake Bleeps’ Despite No Cursing

MONROE, La. (CBS Houston) — Popular A&E reality show “Duck Dynasty” continues to smash competition in the ratings on Wednesday nights, but one star has spoken out about how the show is portrayed.

In an interview with Sports Spectrum TV earlier this year that’s only recently gone viral, Phil Robertson admitted that fake bleeps were inserted into the show even though there was no cursing happening.

“The inserted fake bleeps … like somebody had used profanity, but no one had used profanity,” Robertson said. “I ask those guys that produce the show … ‘What’s the point of the fake bleeps?’”

Robertson admitted that there are up to 20 editors who are “arranging the scenes” on the show so they might think that’s where cursing likely happened.

“Of course these people probably thought that there was some profanity going on which there was zero,” Robertson stated. “If we’re not using profanity, why make it look like we’re using profanity? What is the point? Why don’t you just run it and say what we say?”

Robertson also said that the name Jesus has been cut out during the family’s prayer scene at the end of the show.

“So they would just have me saying, ‘Thank you Lord for the food, thank you for loving us. Amen.’ So I said, ‘Why would you cut out ‘In Jesus’ name?’ They said, ‘Well those editors are probably doing that. They just think that they don’t want to offend some of the Muslims or something.’”

Robertson said that since that conversation the show has been leaving “Jesus” in the show.

“So I notice now they are … leaving it in there, but you got to remember, spiritual warfare,” Robertson said. “I mean you have people with no moral compass, it ain’t there.”

“Duck Dynasty” has been a smash hit for A&E, garnering 11.8 million viewers for the Season Four premiere.

The Robertsons’ Duck Commander business is located in West Monroe, La.

I love the Robertsons for showing people how a loving family operates.

The thing I don't like about the Robertsons...their clothing products aren't made in the U.S.A.

I called their business in Monroe twice and asked them to consider making their shirts, hats, etc., in America. All I got was the run around.

Media has a penchant for faking things; Greek columns and all that.

The fake bleeps are to undermine their outward displays of faith.

There is a reason why this show and other shows like it are popular and the homosexual, liberal crap are not.

Disappointed they are conforming to the no Jesus stance. Seems the number one could make their own demands

So? It’s a fictional TV show, not a documentary.

I've watched the show a few times. I want to like it, and I do get that they are a loving family and they take Christianity seriously. That's good.

But, like all "reality shows", I find it to be obviously scripted and poorly acted. Just not my idea of entertainment, with people being egregiously stupid or troublesome, just to set up some hokey situation, in which all the cameras are perfectly positioned to capture the "totally unexpected" results.

Excellent observation. You are dead right.

They must portray Christians as hypocrites, at all costs.

Be sure and give them some ideas for factories that can produce the garments. Names, locations, etc.

The ‘cup-a-fart’ episode was inspiring

Come on. Rednecks may act like that once in a while, but not 24/7.

Like the excessive bleeping, regrettably the show has become way to scripted. Earlier it had some believable although exaggerated realism.

What US clothes might they be?
I remember when there were Levi factories, small and large, all over Tennessee, and many other states.
Today, there is not one single Levi factory in the USSA.
I guess they could wear leaves and loin cloth....If you can find American made cloth.

I’ve been catching up on the show. Good solid folks. That is what I believe there is a hunger for. I just love it when Duck Dynasty ratings are beating all these left wing yuppie shows. I think it shows an underlying hunger for something more real.

My only TV is by satellite (g-sat) I probably watch the History channel more then any other.
When I first saw the promos for Duck Dynasty, I thought it was a silly made up show to make real Americans look not so sophisticated. After seeing that it was number three in cable I decided to watch some of them.
I can now see why liberals/Marxist (pseudo sophisticates) hate it. It shows how America REALLY became the greatest country on Earth.
