DALLAS -- The parks and recreation department is warning residents near a south Dallas playground to be on the lookout for symptoms of mercury exposure after light bulbs were illegally dumped at the playground and a vacant lot across the street.
Nearly 1,000 electrical and fluorescent light bulbs were found Thursday at the Peary Play Lot in the 2800 block of Peary Ave. near Malcolm X Boulevard.

I hate those CFLs. I’ve had several burst into flames in my house, and the resulting noxious fumes will burn your lungs and eyes terribly.
What kind of jerk would dump all those at a playground?
Malcolm X Boulevard?
Sounds like a racist attack.
Malcolm X Boulevard? That kind of tells you what area of town it is.
Illegal Aliens I would postulate.
I had two blow up, but no flames. Good grief, flames? One blew up in our bedroom over the bed, another in our family room over a couch. After cleaning up the mess, we banned CFL bulbs from our house, and stocked up on as many incandescent bulbs as we could store. People, don't use CFL's in living quarters!
Unidentified Fluorescent Objects?
That too is the fault of this twisted and sick Federal government and it’s demonic rules
A jerk who has had it with all the twisted rules about what trash the trash will and will not deign to pick up?
CFLs are quite normal here, but I do not like the color.
I hear the stupid scare about Mercury in the USSA, and calling hazmat teams when a CFL breaks...Geeesh, rolling the balls of it and coating coins was a favorite childhood pastime.
Is that why I am now a stupid old fart?

The lives of you and your family are nothing compared to POLITICAL CORRECTNESS. (and GE’s Bank Account balance)
You should be proud to sacrifice yourself on the Altar of Liberalism.
I am certain that the dorsal view of the perpetrator(s), would reveal a surface saturated with dihydrogen monoxide in its liquid phase.
You should be proud to sacrifice yourself on the Altar of Liberalism.”
I guess I am destined for the retraining camps. When the word first came out about CFL’s I stocked up on all the normal sizes of regular bulbs I use in my lamps and probably have enough to last the rest of my lifetime. I’ll use candles before I use a CFL.
You can order regular bulbs online.
An illegal Mexican contractor.
You can order regular bulbs online.”
Actually my son told me the same thing right after I bought my lifetime supply. Using my best senior logic I told him that one of these days the internet might crash and then at least I will have my own supply with no worry. I call the cupboard they are in my “Nancy Closet” versus the area where I have all our food stored which is called the “Obama Closet”.
Exposure to LIGHT from a CFL?
While it might not be as relaxing as light from an incandescent bulb, it is hard to see it as debilitating.
Keep in mind, I am not a proponent of CFL bulbs. I do not like or support their use, but I do live in Real-ville.
No sir this is mercury gas not liquid. If you breathe it in its a whole lot worse than playing with the liquid The tubes have 150000000 times the concentration that you should ever be allowed to be exposed. These mercury vapor lamps are pure evil that GE and the EPA want to make us
All use over and over than have to recycle them exactly how they say or get in trouble
Some as swipe like this should have dropped off these lights in front of the local EPA office. Or the local demoncrap office holders office. Or the newspaper office. Freak them out. Make them look at their mercury filled glass tubes and be afraid
These losers poison children Probably illegals who just didn’t want to pay the recycling fees
