He may have been lost, he may have been lonely, but a kitten down on his luck changed his life by boarding a CTrain.
It was a dark night in September when the feline was spotted prowling inside the Barlow/Max Bell station.
The 6½-month-old tabby charmed strangers he met along the way, enjoying an ear scratch or two.
When the kitten bounded up to the platform, he came into view of Calgary Transits security video.
Staff watching the screens did a double take when they noticed the obedient kitten sitting patiently behind the yellow line, waiting for the incoming train.
As the trains doors opened, the cat climbed aboard, lapping up attention from delighted riders clamouring to pet him.
Transit staff intercepted the stray as the train pulled into City Hall station, taking him to safety.

Thank you so MUCH! I will check the kittehs out... It is a very informative site!
We had a raccoon coming through our cat door to eat kitty food. She finally got so fat she actually pulled the door off. I heard a racket & looked out the window to see the coon with the door around her hips. She got it off & left, & didn’t try to come back in. But the next spring she came back with three kits & sent THEM through the door for food! Smart girl.
Happily, our cats & coons have never bothered each other. Prudence is the better part of valor.
We once had a Maine Coon who spent every spare minute lying in front of the fridge, patiently working at undoing the magnetic door edging (not sure what it is properly called).
He never managed it. He was infamous for snatching food right out of my husband’s mouth, though. Worse than any dog we ever had for successful counter surfing, too. Snagged himself a steak, once.
Your cat is a genius.
There are hypoallergenic cats, but they’re very expensive. I’m very allergic, but being around someone who owns a cat (and presumably has cat hairs on them) doesn’t bother me. When my symptoms do flare up, Claritin D 12 Hour helps a lot, if that helps your friend any.
Check out blue russians, I hear they're the poodles of the cat kingdom......they don't shed.
I hadn’t heard that they didn’t shed, but I have always liked to look at the photos...I will check them out, thanks!
I don’t know how allergic my friend is, but it seems I recalled her telling me that the dander on clothes was enough to choke her up. So I want to be very careful about any pet.
I will also buy some Clairtin D 12 hour for her visit, once I get a kitteh! I used to take it (long before it was OTC!) and it was the only allergy med that worked for me. Thanks again for the info!
Clever kitty. Surely he was smart enough to relatch the door, so obviously he didn’t relatch it out of spite. :O)
He is an EVIL genius. Raised him from 2 weeks old. 8 oz of pure trouble, vet gave him a 50/50 chance.
I love the counter surfing! the main coons were just on too cute.
Hmmm, hadn’t though of that. Spite? Hmm ... he did appear to believe kittehs rule.
Yeah, I think Maine Coons are part dog. Sam would go on walks. I think he weighed about 17 pounds at the peak of his life, before he had an unfortunate run-in w/a car. We raised him from a kitten, too. Gorgeous markings as a baby.
This is what I wanted to see....:)
